I just would like alot of opinions in what is more usefull vs animals and PvP. I can almost go either way. I would think a pistoleer is better because that seems to be where the most action takes place, up close. Maybe a few of u pistoleers and rifleman can share some expiriences with me from both sides.

im both, the riflmen are able to pick people off at a distance but arent as effective close pistoleers can use the infamous pistolwhip which is very handy if i had to choose one id go with the pistoleer cause most combat is upclose.

Rifles tend to be very slow, but Headshot is where it's at. Most people, creatures, even PC's don't put as much into Mind as they do Health and Action. Pistols are very quick, and you get Healthshot, which is nice, but eventuall drains your Action pool significantly. They both have their pro's and con's. It's really up to what you want to do. Of course, Carbine is in the middle.

Most rifleman will tell you otherwise, but as a rifleman I would say the rifleman is better...especially in PVP. However, this may have changed now that PVP is different. I hope I don't kill my opponents in 2 or less shots anymore.

I love the damage the rifle does, particularly the headshot. I switch quickly to pistol when the enemy moves in close.

"There were young knights among them who had never been present at a stricken field. Some could not look upon it, some could not speak. They held themselves apart from the others who were cutting down prisoners at my lord's orders, for the prisoners were a body too numerous to be guarded by those of us who were left.
Then Jean de Rrye, an aged knight of Burgundy who had been sore wounded in the fight, rode up to the group of young knights and said: "are ye maidens with your downcast eyes? Look well upon it. See all of it. Close your eyes to nothing. For the battle is fought to be won, and this is what happens if you lose."

out of curiousity, what specials do you use with the rifle and pistol? since they attack separate pools i'd think you'd only be making the kill take longer unless you're only using overchargeshot with the rifle and praying it hits health?

Well, if Pistol Special Abilities are draining your action pool, level up Quickness, Stamina, and buy a new gun! I have max Quickness, Stamina, and my Scout Blaster (2.0 Speed) barely touches my Action pool. The thing is, I bought it from a badass weaponsmith, and the HAM cost is really low. Long live speed.

Which of the two of these is better? Pistoleer or rifleman? I have already started on the way to pistoleer and i am wondering if i have made a mistake? Is the rifleman really the best as they do mainly mind damage which is what most things have the least of. On the other hand, in large groups, people are most likely to being doing damage to the other HAM stats. I do enjoy solo hunting, but I mainly hunt with my commando friend, or in big groups.Should I abandon pistoleer for rifleman or should I forget about them completely and go for commando? Can someone with experience in this field please give me any advice as I am really confused about this. Thankyou to anyone who replies to this.

As it stands right now, Rifleman - they're one of the most powerful professions in the game (I know of some that can solo an AT-ST). However, if the Dev's get things right, pistoleer will be worth just as much as riflemen after the combat balance and in my opinion pistoleer is far more stylish, Star Wars esq (if you see yourself as a main character wannabe) and fun in general - my advice would be if you want a quick fix, go rifleman, you can master it in 2-3 days. If you think you can wait and like the ideas behind pistoleer, stick around, as things might actually start to get interesting (and with any luck, start to work )

i was pistoleer/master smuggler and i dropped the pistol for rifle. Stil keeping panic shot and low blow and lastditch.

My smuggler pistol styles have not really suffered too much, i still land the shot sometimes it takes 2 oe 3 more trys.

Rifleman is obscene my first pvp experiance with is i got more incaps and kills in 1 hour than i did playing pistoleer in 3 months.

Im not pretending to be a pvp god but the things u cando with a rifle, its like playing "easymode"

balance patch needs to REALLy balance the ranged professions.

In terms of advnacement, I'd go Pistol Techniques, then Defense, then the dodge line, and finally the accuracy line.
