Thread: Best and worst professions?! A view from someone who has mastered EVERY ONE!

Newbies often ask me which is the best and worst profession, as I have mastered ever one in the game across my multiple accounts... I've been playing the game from day one and I've realised just how different it can be depending what professions you have.
Well, this is what I found for each profession I have mastered - what do you guys think?
- Most rewarding: Jedi (actually feels like Star Wars and gets the adrenalin going.)
- Most profitable: Merchant (Ran a big mall guild mall on Naritus and had 200m at one point!)
- Most fun: Commando (Too easy! You get guilty killing people with FlameSingle2)
- Deadliest: Rifleman or Combat Medic (Unstoppable if you have both. Rifleman is aweful (I kept for that reason!)
- Most loved: Doctor (Too much love sometimes! People won't leave you alone)
- Most abused: Dancer (They need a union - the grief was sometimes unbelievable)
- Most hated: Combat Medic (Evil beyond belief. Watching people diseases and poison to death made me crywith laughter)
- Hardest profession: Politician (Tell Hell 24 x7, but I used to run a huge city and guild on Naritus and loved it!)
- Least fun: Bio Engineer (Ughh... I almost quit the game grinding that! Not for the faint-hearted)
Anyone else have any favourites or least favourites?

OK... I have to admit that I have not mastered pilot yet, but I will!

Most fun for me is carbineer. Nothing better than doing an area knockdown (chargeshot 2) and watching a ton of NPCs fall over.

Least Favorite: Bounty Hunter -- Decent damage with the scatter pistol, but the BH missions were mind-numbing.
Most Favorite: Swordsman -- Still working on it, but melee is so much more fun and effective for PVE, which is my thing.

tk has been my most fun. i had doctor for a solid 6 months and about halfway through i started loathing it so i gave it up 2 weeks ago and have nearly finished my new template till jedi.

most fun for PvP - BH/Carbineer built, it's just fun when people don't get how you got em bite the dust
most fun for PvE - Pikeman area KD/dizzy baby
most profitable - smuggler - I've been selling sliced weaps for my SWG cash since months
most disappointing - doctor (for cash, for hunt parties it's cool), you see em sitting and you think "damn they make huge cash buffing !" then you go doc, and get bored after 30 minutes facing jerks and kids in the buff line, you want to go and play, but you have to stay one more hour to pay for the buffpacks you just bought.
most fun crafting profs: WeaponSmith, Shipwright, many possibilities, nice concurrence. Tailor, just the funniest crafting prof EVER, BioEngineer - I loved the system.
Most over rated - TKM, works for basic stuff, until you face a 100% kinetic NPC then you're screwed.
2nd Most Over Rated - Swordsman, yea ok, cool damage whatever, it's just not as fun as pikeman, and I even think I had greater damage output with pikes, at least in an area point of view.
most under rated - Carbineer, once you figure out how it works (and you get the speed), it's just HELLA fun, and powerfull, the good point is that it's too hard for the common player, to use it with efficiency, so they declared that it su(ked...
2nd most under rated - Pikeman, HUGE damage output, electricity damage, very good for corvette or DWB.
Coolest title: Master Smuggler
Lamest outfit: black hooded cloak, black doctor's dress, all the things that say: "hey look at me ! I'm a 12yo r0xx0rzzzz !" looks awful with TKM or MRM title.
Worst Bio: "my parents got killed etc... blah blah blah" just like 1 million other people on ALL servers
Other fun professions, if we ever had a cooler community: ranger, entertainer, squad leader
Prof I keep the longest time:
Smuggler (since january)
BH/Carbineer built (alt character) since may
Weaponsmith/tailor (other alt) since march
Most nerfed profession
Creature Handlers got the worst nerf last december
Most Neglected Professions
1 - Smuggler
2 - Squad Leader
3 - Ranger
Most Game breaking features
Buffs/90% composite
Food/drink (sorry to the chefs)
Most stupid petition I've seen
Give mp ships rear facing, pilot controlled turrets.
wouldn't be able to hit a tier 1 B wing, but whatever...
etc... etc...

Yeah, I loved BH too - just got fed-up hunting for Jedi who were not online!

Rifleman is a great proffesion, it has very few bugs, and actually serves its purpose. It's also hella fun

Okay I haven't had that much professions, but here's my list.
Money Maker: Ranger
Strongest: Rifleman
Most fun in combat: Carbineer
Most fun in general: Creature handler/ranger
Must fun in crafting: Bio Engineer

Obviously this is all very subjective. For any new player joining swg keep that in mind. Bio Engineer was one of the funnest professions I ever played.

Most unexpected - BH/Carbineer, people were always asking me what I was using
Most fun - Pikeman, area attack out the yin-yang and just so much fun to watch
Most profitable - Ranger/pikeman hunting for docs making millions an hour
Worst grind - Tie betweenBH investigation and BE DNA
Most fun crafting - BE creatures, how can you not like playing god?
Best feel good profession - medic/doc/CM, it just feels good to save someones life with a big old heal
Easiest grind - TKA, it took me less time to get 4043 (when I quit) then it did to get to novice TKA
Most expensive - Pilot, not for me since my alt is a MSW but I feel others pain
Worst Image - CM, not all of us are about "dood, I'm so l337" tossing poisons, I like to heal!
Most misnamed - Smuggler, just what were we smuggling?
Worst forum experience - BH, man is it ugly in there
Best forum experience - carbineer, just a bunch of guys who love their proffesion
Scariest template - anything that only includes only crafting and novice marksman, try heading to dath to get a resource that is only spawning there with just a CDEF pistol for protection!

Most Fun: Image Design- Being able to change my look at anytime and I am more rare than Jedi. I love helping people achieve that superb look , and even though I made some money with those stat designs Im going to be more happy to reduce my prices with this new smaller ID timer. My customers will praise me for days.
