I think that the starting money (new char) of 1000 credits istoo absurd for the after cu economy .... i have tried yesterday to built up a new char on bloodfin lol 1000cand cl 1 if you consider that in the bazaar the lower price i seen is 500 c for a stimpack a... also one bactashot is like flawless kryat pears for jedi
hehe remember my real first day in the game (one year and half ago ) my friend that are waiting for me in the guildtipped me 100k wow ... those credist was used to buy one full compo suite !
Now one fullpadded suite (layered) after cu is worth 1 millon and half! the game economy is falling apart ...
my proposal is to give new char 10000 (10k ) good for buy the first things like food or a stock of stimpack a
with 10k they can moove thir steps int the game without the unwanted beggar skill (pls..mate...can you land me some money i need for food ) and 10k didn't make the difference in the economy situation
/salute
/drop a coin(10k) for the beggar

When I made a new character a month or two ago, I started out with 10k.....Do you not have any expansions or something?

Given the fact that you can run VERy simple to understand and complete missions, you can have plenty of money very quickly.
(And Bactashot is a SKILL...not an item you can buy)

I'm not sure what server you are on but on Lowca I can put battle armor with 7k/5k for 350k.
You don't need armor until you've done quite a bit more though.
You can't use armor until you've reached your first elite skill.
You shouldn't use armor until you're at least half way through that elite skill.
Up until that point all you need to do is upgrade weapons every so often and save your money.
One of my friends recently started playing and within a month he'd saved his first million and this didn't include what he paid for his armor and weapons.

I started with 8k on my wanderhome character......then as I'm walking along doing the Empire Day quest a guy tips me 10k and another gives me a speeder bike, but thats irrelavent right now. It doesn't take that long to make money in this game at all. I think the starting credits whatever they are are fine.

What does it matter. As a Cl1 you are no where near being able to wear armor. Run missions to lvl up a bit. And by the time you can wear armor im sure you can afford it.

At launch of game we got a whole 250 credits to our name... and no clue what to do. Not too difficult to run missions to make money.

New players get millions to start with in the form of a BARC. Vets can also get millions when they start up new characters from ADKs.

You can't start characters with a lot of cash. it doesn't take much for 3rd party programs to continually make characters on various servers, tip someone, then delete the character. Its a sad, silly truth, but it happens... if characters started with 100k each, and you can make a character every 5 minutes (across 3 servers)... do the math, and that's with one computer.
