It seems that there is a bug with Obi-Wan appearing for some players... He just won't, no matter how 'qualified' you are. However, if you have completed all of the pre-requisites then you can speak to the Ethereal Spirit when he appears for other people. Either you can get someone to spawn him from the Holocron [815,-1468]or you can wait at the static areas where he spawns duringhistrials for other people( around [-1170,-576] and at [186,3101] ).

I just got the reward. I did not keep the crystal for myself. Reuse time on this crystal is 15min, stats are Modify Health by 250.00 points, Modify Mind Regeneration, Reposte melee attacks, Return incoming attacks, Modify defense by 75.00 points

I must say that this quest is the BEST quest I have ever ran in this game and I have been here since day one and I have ran ALOT of quests. Too bad they are about to screw the game completely with the new revamp.......

slight Correction the betrayal reward is the Lair Crystal (drained) or at least thats what i got i didnt recieve any shards

and the stats are

+15 to combat speed

+75 to accuracy

Increased Damage

Increased Action Regean

awesome guide though

Yes, Lord Vartonis must be defeated solo. As long as you're level 80and have a decent template you should be able to do it with the proper preparation (ie. foods/buffs/spices) and strategy (more offense, no healing during battle).

A Great (!) guide! I completed yesterday and good as I am I destroyed the crystal. hehe
However I got another strange loot from the lvl 110 dude: A mystical orb (looks exactly like a red crystal)... is this decoration only? As far as I know you get a holocron if you take the crystal yourself?
