do you get survival xp from crafting anything while in a camp? or just camps themselves? If its anything that would be great, I have enough crap to make stim-a's, traps, and basic camps till I turn blue in the face.

Just camp and trap crafting give survival XP. Fishing does as well - but that would take longer than sitting in the camp.
Only once have I been successful in setting up a camp and it being close enough to water to fish from.

I can't understand why to use macros to get the survival tree done in few hours??
I do camps when I'm wounded playing hunt missions. In this way I proceed with the melee grid and with scouting and survival too.
It's a better way to play, in my opinion

The only thing that gets better is that you get more XP per camp..... But I guess that would be complimented with the fact you have to get more XP........
Nope, doesn't really get any better, sorry.

Yeah doing the camp stuff can be fun if you have laid back mates that like to sit around in camps talking for hours (like me
) however if not just grind it on camps whilst sitting in camps. Youll be suprise how little time it takes.

Don't forget fishing. Say what you will, but when was the last time you profited from camping? At least you can sell the fish you catch (if it's good quality) and earn Survival XP while you are at it.

I did frontering II last night, making camps in practice mode, while me and a few guildies were sitting in my field base shoooting the breeze. The time went by fast and did a box in 45 mins, all the while just enojying the day, shooting the breeze and discussing what to hunt over the next few days

It does get better! Here's my observation as a Coronet meadow camper: When I was doing Scout camps, nobody ever stopped, and nothing ever happened, except that a kind sentient on a speeder occaisionally blasted through. How that I am setting up Ranger Field Bases, they attract a lot of attention. Docs and medics have crafted in the camp, astonished newbs have stood there in awe, even asking if it was a player or game made camp. Players have offered me work tracking, or subcontract work to fulfill a harvesting contract of theirs. It's a magnet to anyone who needs training in scout, and there are quite a few working some or all of scout, so I have gotten a lot of ap in the camp too. I often cannot resist the urge to AFK camp, especially when the dishes need doing, but most of these cool social bonuses have come when I was paying attention, maybe doing other work on my laptop, and struck up conversations with people passing through. The most it usually takes is "Hi"
