Okay, somebody post something positive so he'll have something to reply to. Once he's in here, we can jump him.
Um....
Great Friday Feature! Now I can finally go pick up BE and know what the hell I'm doing!

I completely agree. The true irony in the quote is that he said it right after talking about how hard he was working to learn more about the DE profession so that he could help the DE community during the revamp. (And you don't even need to be a DE to know the difference between the droid types - all you have to do is lookat them in-game!)

Good luck on getting anything useful out of Keldarin (the BE Dev) this is the same rocket scientist that quote 'works' unquote on Pikeman (and other professions I imagine). The guy has no clue. His work such as it is has all the hallmarks of someone that misses a LOT of deadlines and does slipshod research for the results he does put out. Seriously, this is coming from a corporate analysis point of view. If this guy was working for the Donald he would've heard 'you're fired' way back! At least they could do is take the guy's stapler and send him to the boiler room.

I knew that would happen, I didn't even bother to look at it right away. I mean if it was a REAL guide from the erstwhile BE Developer Keldarin I'd be able to hear the screams of joy from the last of the BE's from any and everywhere. But since this was compiled by the same person who clearly never read even ONE post on how skilltapes work, what could you expect.

TH is never going to post on this thread again, you guys realize that right? He even stated one time that he basically wouldn't talk to unhappy customers. That's great public relations, huh? And if he does reply, he will only respond to the one person that says "This is so cool!", or asks, "so, how do I create the macro for DNA sampling?" while ignoring all the real issues.
Add insult to injury - look at the screenshot of the Skills screen that starts the guide - am I the only one that noticed that this "character" has 1 of 250 Skill Points remaining, and yet is flagged as having only Scout, Medic, and Bio-Engineer skills - and not even full Bio-Engineer skills at that!
It would be nice to see some updated content instead of revision after revision after revision of the same old hashed-out, worn-out material.

i hope you devs realize how much of a joke this guide is to any bio-eny w/ experience.
Well the players do as for the Devs, don't think they read too many of these posts (or any other for that matter). Particularly the BE Developer who definitely does NOT read the BE forums or any of the forums at all. Such is life.
Friday Feature Disaster 2: Beyond Skilltapes to BE

Also, TH plays as a TKA. Hmmm...

Hey he does read the TKA boards though, because well they actually get love so a low risk of negativity there. The guy needs to do SOME research--the skilltape disaster could have been prevented if he ever read ANY of the numerous player guides on them. There wouldn't have been a guide at all because he would've realized how fubar'd skilltapes are and just given up. But still the problem would've been avoided at least.

But it's his best quote EVER! It deserves to be immortalized.
I do so love those clear-domed R2s.
Very true, I totally recalled that comment when I read your sig.

Well, I gave myself the weekend to cool off. Then I decided to post here, after reading 4 pages of very angry posts... b/c quite frankly this guide is useful to a newbiebut a joke to anyone in the BE Community, and certainly not advanced.
I have nothing more to say. Its all been expressed and unfortunatly we will probably never hear a single word from TH on this. As a community rep, its easier to pretend you were too busy than face the truth that your team got caught with its pants down... I like seeing Frriday Features listed friday at closing time... it means the devs don't have to face the music for their so far very dissapointing acts.
Thanks TH, thanks devs... next time don't bother reposting crap we already have, just link to the FAQ from here on out.
