What about people who *chose* to take 2H over polearm or 1H because that's what they preferred? Do they deserve your flaming and ranting? What if blind was more powerful than it is, if you chose 1H because it offered you something more than you felt 2h would offer, then you're just as bad as the people you are flaming.

This whole thread is just the OP being upset about losing 5 points and choosing (choosing!) a template that isn't that great and thinking she has the right to lambast and madly strike at anyone around her like a snake in a corner.
Also, as per description, 1h offers me more defense (blind) than fotm. I meant 2h.
That means you are a LS dabbler. Even you have taken to dabbling, so everyone who dabbles in professions should just stop? You complain about dabblers, yet you are a dabbler yourself. I juust don't know what to say to you any more.
I have been my current template since several month before the Combat Upgrade even hit.

I didn't say that. There is a difference between suggestions for how to improve a profession and whines about how others are better than you. You are whining about dabblers in this posts. They can't help how the game works. If they can get a decent temp they enjoy without any masteries, so be it. You have no right to complain about dabblers, as it's the Devs that made this game and not them.

I am upset when I see people defending things like 0400 Wielder, 0040 Defender or 0400 Lightsaber like it was their right to have the best. That's the reason I created this thread.
IT IS THEIR RIGHT! They pay 15 bucks a month to play whatever temp they choose, reguardless of what you like.

Just like it's your right to have 4004 LS regardless of what your reasons were!

exactly, if we didn't have dabblers this would be Everquest in space or something

This is your most idiotic post to date. Dabbling is what makes SWG stand out from the other MMORPG games where you're placed in classes. It's a feature to be able to replace the focus of a mastery with the breadth of a number of different skills in combination. The problems only arise when someone who is a dabbler has the majority of the power/efficiency/effectiveness of a mastery with a fraction of the skill point cost. There are advantages and disadvantages to dabbling. You really simply need to stop playing before you throw yourself out a window or something. This game is clearly not good for yourself.

Oh, Sure. EVERYBODY picks up Saber Slash and Saber Blind Attack since they know it's the über.

Oh and to the point of the post. I hate dabbling. However they made to many things essential, in to many different trees and not enough skill points to grab them. I am a partial dabbler, so I am guilty, but would gladly trade it out for some real depth at master level. Like a master should.
What is it about dabbling that you dislike? Not just dabbling itself, surely, or are you just as insane as the OP? Dabbling is a great part of this game and if you're just upset about losing 5 points of something like the OP, don't take it out on a great feature of the game. It's nice to be able to be a part-architect and part combatant, or to have portions of brawler and your choice of ranged. It's one of the defining things of the game. If you fail to use your brain to distinguish between dabbling and people taking what's hot now, at least /try/ to make the distinction. Dabbling is a good thing in this game. Balance issues only arise when a particular skill makes up the majority of the effectiveness of a mastery. This whole thread is just the OP being upset about losing 5 points and choosing (choosing!) a template that isn't that great and thinking she has the right to lambast and madly strike at anyone around her like a snake in a corner.
[Edit: ] I'm reporting myself for this post. Too much flaming, but it's what I want to post.

To try and answer: First off what we call dabbling isn't that exactly. Its more picking up the essentials. So thats what I do not like about it. Its not that you are just grabbing a few variations from other skill trees. You are grabbing the only useful part of a template and moving on. Is that your fault or mine, no. Its poor tree development. They should have learned long ago to spread things out so everyone doesn't end up with the same thing.
How much different is your template from this?
Sabers: 0/4/0/0 2-handed saber for the armor break
Healing: 4/0/0/0 1500 heal
Enhancer: 2/4/0/2 For Force run 1, Force Speed 1, Channel Force and Improved Force Armor
Defender: 0/0/4/0 For the Force Aura
Powers: 0/4/0/0 For The Force Cloak
Total Skill Points Spent: 192....the last 58 are your choice. SO to me, the only really dabbling happens with those 58 skill points. The rest are pretty necessary or atleast the forum community thinks so.
Youre the first who blamed me for picking 1h saber...
