Thread: Star Wars Names: The Name Doctor is IN!
Hi Riis, I have two names:
Bashooda Fissile: Male/Human/Novice Scout
Katra Vyona: Female/Human/Novice Scout/Novice Entertainer/Novice Marksman
This is cool what your doing. Hopefully my names will get high ranks ![]()
all right, let me give this name a shot
Kayden Voush - Human male smugler
Shwerigraw - Wookie female
Merik Du'kaz - Zabrack Archetect
Here we are on this fine day. I have completed 12 names from the page we will refer to here as 34.
I wish you all well, and will be spinning some more names to you at another time!
Tohn'Tik
I admit I am interested in this name, because it reminds me of a character I once had in a RPG game called Fading Suns (GREAT universe by the way). His name was Tom Tik. At any rate, it is a very memorable name, having a good repeating sound, and a lack of second name to muddy the waters. Well done.
Taisan (Marantz) Marantz
I am not 100% certain what you meant, but I am guessing in the game you only are called Taisan, but your name is Taisan Marantz. My first thought is that this is a high quality human name, being two real life (if somewhat obscure) names, but I could see this as a Zabrak name as well. If I were to tweak this name, I would think about some modifications to the first name, like Tailan, Taidan and Talsan.
Cawworr
I like how this name works within itself, being a short, but looped sounding name. In my opinion, however, it needs a little more, and some particles that may help are –ek, -ika, -oba, -ara. It sounds a little like “Car War,” so these particles will help a bit. Cawworrek, Cawworrika, Cawworroba, Cawworrara.
Menous Desiphotus
My first thought on this character name is that it really should be on a human. Of course, the (now standard) solution to this is to say he was adopted and raised by humans, or alternatively, been given a human name. This name, being VERY Greek/Latin, should be used with care, and so I would suggest you look at how a Twi’lek would feel about having SUCH a human name. Some people, when subsumed by a more monolithic culture like the humans in Star Wars, would overcompensate their own traditions in an attempt at individuality, or would retreat into a sullen inner world, being closed to outsiders. This may be a role play direction for this character.
Dredmor
I think we are reaching the limits here of what we can get away with for a Wookiee name. We can continue to use the “nickname” approach, but as always, I would urge you to put his REAL Wookiee name in his biography, and explain this nickname was given by spice miners, or pirates, or Imperial taskmasters, or some such.
Neorain
You will understand that Neo is a touchy name nowadays (not blaming you at all here), especially in the Star Wars community. Again, we need to look at species fit, and it is lacking here, but such a thing could be fixed by name modification. Going single name is fine and fun, so we have only one name to “Zabrakify:” Nyorehn, Neren, Feorain, Seorain, etc.
Jadea Ganjea
This name starts to hint at personal habits, eh? Well, if not, then this is the view some will take on this name. I won’t elaborate, but would suggest a slight modification on the name. While I like it’s tempo and rhythm, perhaps a little vowel shifting will aid this: Jodaa Gunjeu, Jidia Genjaa, Jadou Ginjia.
Zal'hanan
Any relation to “Callahan?” This is a fairly robust Calamari name, though I will say they generally go a bit shorter with their names. If I was to theorize, I would say that the Mon Calamari have a very brief language, likely because of the need to conserve air underwater. If I was to shorten this name, I would go Zal’ha, Zalhan, Alhan, Hanan.
Varity Jubarensis
Very fun name. A possible translation of your first name is “Truth” and with the Latinate last name, you definitely culturally have centered your self in one place. This name would be ideal for a scholarly or crafting type, as opposed to the more active (and shorter) names we like for Bounty Hunters and such.
Talyn Freedark
This name falls into what I have called the “heroic” category…it seems to indicate a more bright, active character than say, Vantanmo Ferrocitiu or some such. While Talyn is a Farscape character, I don’t think it is a huge problem. Good name.
Dulcenea D'sa
I like the last name, which is a little daring with the conventions of language we English-speakers are used to. Dee Sah is a good, last name for a Twi’lek. The first name would undoubtedly be a nickname, likely derived in some way from her profession. Sweet indeed.
Lor Accaba
A good name for a human. Familiar, yet unfamiliar – standard, yet unlike any one culture’s naming schemes here on Earth. This is a good, clean and fun name.
Planet Fact for the Day: Mon Calamari must have only been recently denuded in water (geologically speaking). The evolution of the twin sapient races there indicated that these humanoids "back-evolved" from land-dwelling humanoids to the aquatic races we see here. Likely, they were their own ancestors, involved in war, or ecological disaster (not even by their own hands), which drowned their world. When such an event happened, genetic work or simple adaptation turned their bodies into the sea dwelling species we see. The Quarren, remained bitter about their world's fate, and turned inward to the dark depths, while the Mon Calamari obviously retained their own racial memories of glory, and dreamed of the stars.
RbT
Uhen'dur - Human male, CH/Explorer
(oo-hen-dur)
Born on to a nomadic tribe on Tatooine.
Sinjin-Jeeth Sinn, Human Male, Pistoleer 3/3/4/3, Bounty Hunter 0/0/4/0, Novice Medic
Name: Khar'We Zdaad
Species: Zabrak
Sex: Male
Occupation: See signature below.
I started out as a scout and have continued down that path.
Broken: male Zabrak Bounty Hunter.
(My thought is that a BH is secretive and mysterious. He chose this name for himself, and noone knows his real given name)
Forgiven: male Zabrak of all trades (occupation changes often to try something new)
(Similar to above, though he isn't as mysterious as the bounty hunter)
**I must add, the names I use in games always have important meaning to me. Both of these directly reflect my faith in Christ. Though He may not exist in the Star Wars world, this is who I am, and will always spill over.
Hi riis,
Selak Novaburn - zabrack of questionable decent, commando and smuggler.
Name: Arget Cotusa
Human, Male -Artisan and Merchant. Dabbled in Music and Medic for a while.
The"g" is properly a hard-g ("get"), instead of a soft-g ("gent"), but he has found it easier to respond to both variants. The most frequent mispelling is "Argent", which he also responds to -- irritating a customer by correcting their pronunciation is a good way to lose business.
(If you are interested, I'll give the actual derivation of the two names.)
okay
Twilek Female-Oniss Ineke
Wookie Male- Chiirobe
Human Male- Erikson Jenkins
Wookie Male- Wrrlog
hehehe mine are very continuity breaking....
Bria: Church Grif, Zabrak male, BH/Commando, Rebel
Test Center: Teekay Fourtwo-one, Human male, CH/Tailor, Imperial
A human marksman and scout: Tobyin K'Torr.
