Thread: Friday Feature August 5th Galactic Civil War Guide
Influencing the landscape of the war
There is a global tracking mechanism on all build-able planets that measures the state of the war at any given moment, and can be check ed on a planet by planet basis. Each individual planet has a score that is modified by placing bases for your faction, and destroying the bases of your enemy faction. The longer a base stays on the planet, the more it benefits the faction, and impacts the score on that planet. This score determines how many Faction Points all Bases, Faction troops , and Faction perks cost, and will vary from planet to planet based on the score for that planet. The more your faction is losing, the lower your cost will be in order to help you regain control of that planet. If your faction has a substantial lead over your enemy faction, the cost will be much higher. The score also determines the factional affiliation of cities on Corellia, Naboo and Tatooine.
Uh....
No, this is backwards actually. The more your faction is WINNING, the lower your cost will be in order to help you STAY IN control of that planet. If you faction has a substantial lead over your enemy faction, the cost will be much LOWER.
How do you sleep at night? How is it so easy for you to hit the send key on
posting suchinaccurate, outdated information and pretend you've done your
job??? Do you have such little regard for ethics, integrity and plain ol common
decency? Do you take no pride in your work? Posting gibberish like this is
insulting to those of us who number one pay a premiumfor a high quality
game experience and number two who beleive in giving 110 percent at whatever
we do, gamewise and or rl. The time for being polite is over - you may think
you can play around with people and their intelligence but you are sadly mistaken and this
and numerous other posts prove it. I used to think you were the best part of this
whole team - not the first time I've been proven wrong.
I've said before and I'll say again with emphasis there's no need for a Friday
Feature is there's nothing worth sharing...I'd much rather you say sorry I really
don't have anything to report right now than regurg a so-called guide that's
nothing related to how the game is currently designed. I would have liked to
played the GCW the way it was originally envisioned - I visted one battlefield
just before they were nerfed in fall 03 - it was a fun, instanced experience and
much better than just running around popping the stray st. It had a mission objective,
a time limit and others couldnt interfere. Why not post why those battlefields have
been removed FOREVER? No explaination was ever given as is par for the course
for you folks. Admit you arent up to the task of fixing them. Your customers deserve
no less. BTW I challenge you to come up with an even worse FF next week.
I'd wager something nice like a new car but somehow I have a feeling I'll lose.
Three thumbs down - way down.

Yea, while the communication from the Devs as of late has been great,
QFE I'm a day 1 player, and this person is right on the money.
You are both on crack, and a day 1 player spouting this must be on meth to boot.
Where have they spoken to armorsmiths, weaponsmiths, commandos, smugglers, squad leaders....do I need to go on? Barring Jedi and BH what the heII have they done post CUother than break smuggler, hose BH's, screw entertainers, and nerf Jedi? Add some 2 seaters and crapp @ss vet rewards?
The communications coming from these clowns has been unmitigated suck @ss crap. They don't listen, they don't tell us anything, they don't acknowledge issues, and they aren't telling us where they are going and why.
This game is getting old and busted fast, and before any of you clownshoes says "if you don't like it, quit" don't worry it's coming. Just as soon as I exhaust the last bit of content left to me in this game, namely the JTL portion which is about the last thing in SWG that I haven't doneI will be gone. That is unless they fix the obviously broken stuff and add the FRS back in.
Too bad in little more than a year I went from a fanboi who would advertise this game to anyone who would listen to a bitter old SWG vet that's ready to quit.
Must be "WORKING AS INTENDED"..................
Congratulations on being a troll.
The communication from the Devs since Tiggs went on vacation has been great. I saw more posts from more Devs over the past three days than I've seen since I renewed my account this past February. They're at least talking now, which is a vast improvement over the utter silence we've experienced since the CU was passed in early May. So, take your juvenile accusations of "drug use" and go someplace else.
With that in mind, I'm not going to ask you to quit. I don't care. People like you seem to have this fixation that somehow "you're important to the survival of SWG." You don't matter. I don't matter. All that matters is the money coming in and not the individuals playing the game. No one on these forums is going to miss you if you leave. The Devs don't care. No one cares. You're a "cog in the wheel."
Maybe you enjoy entertaining the idea that your threats on quitting actually matter; maybe that gives you some semblance of self-worth in regards to this game.
I chuckle at that notion.
You have two options, hotshot. Those options are:
A.) Try to be as constructive as possible in petitioning the Devs to actually listen to the community.
B.) Stop playing this game.
You can do one or you can do both. In the end, no one will care which you choose, so please kindly refrain from thinking that voicing your decision will carry any weight one way or another.
Thanks.
I had a long point by point rebuttal for this then I figured...it's not worth it, lets cut right to the chase then shall we?
Just a couple of things, saying you are on crack is just an expression...ever hear of those up on your high horse there? Just a comment to illustrate how far off the mark I really feel your opinion is (ex - That person is so wrong they must be on crack) Not really a hard concept to grasp.
And I would much rather be a troll instead of turning a blind eye to the state of the game and playing forum board suck up.
I don't care why you used the expression. It was juvenile. With that in mind, I'm not a forum board suckup. I don't care what the Devs think. I don't care what you think. All I care about is when given the opportunity, to voice some contructive criticism and lend some ideas to make the game better. And I'll continue to do that until I quit the game.
You can't suck up to these people, because sucking up implies that you'll be rewarded for it. It's apparent you fail to grasp the utter indifference I share toward the people on this board, be they subscribers or players. Everyone on this forum is either a cog (i.e. subscribers) or a lemming (Dev).
If you want to bash the Developers, be my guest. Just leave other people's responses out of it. ![]()

Yet you wated your time to reply to the person. If you do not care prove it and ignore the person. Then again I am sure you will type a long smart @ss post to this.

Wait TH are you serious?
You post a CGW Guide - when the next thing after the CU (and the smuggler revamp *sigh*) was supposed to be a revamp of the CGW, as DEVs have said more than once?
So we can obviously scratch that revamp as well.
The current system is broken, Jedi dominated, i wont touch it with a ten-foot polearm atm.
And if it'S still in the works. MAybe you would care to comment.
What are the plans?
Magnum
Been waiting for this as well... I remember them saying the GCW was the very next thing on their revamp list. Considering how things are a bit out of whack however, I'd have to say we're still in the combat upgrade.
Seriously though, having written many guides for SWG in the past, I would never simply regurgitate old information without updating it... Who thought to post this without making the few GLARING changes it obviously needed?
CGW is a joke, planetary control is other joke...
why dont put soldier at level 85 or more in dominate cities? why min level in forward pvp dont be 80? why dont stop FP grinding?
This war is a joke, because only need get FP and building HQs.
Get back overt and convert, full pvp in CGW and up level in soldier.
Sorry, my english is the worst.
