It didnt use to do that before.

Phew.. I tought it was me who had gone nuts. Ive have noticed some kind of a change in the terrain textures too. Just couldnt put my finger on what.
Bought a new computer two months ago and running with the highest settings. Now it feels just like before with my old computer. If not worse.
Dont know if it is both colors and the "size" on texture thing. I think something is wrong with the flora too. Just doesnt feel like the old good Galaxies anymore.
I wonder if it is a intentional change or a "bug"?

Given the total communication blackout with the devs I'm almost certain it's intentional. They don't want to take the time to admit something like this isa problem and then work to solve it.

Typical
I can't help notice this every waking second I play (after I realized it wasn't a jedi mind trick
This has to be a high priority item to be fixed/reset and not something that sits on the backburner while promises of more loot, GCW, and CURB float around. Please can we get a official response to this?

(before buying this computer, i contacted the customer support for their advice, i have a desktop already and have mentioned it... "SWG doesn't run on laptops we recomend you to buy a desktop...") hahahahah
It's really easy to see at a star port and wherever you have a large smooth terrain.

Even the sound? If that is true then the situation is worse than I thought. I'm surprised the devs would need to cut back on server load though, especiallygiven the recent storage increases I assumed they finally upgraded their servers. Then again maybe that's why they needed to cut back on the graphics

I don't want to jump on Com's conspiracy theory bandwagon here but I have to agree as well as offer my own findings.
First these reductions will not improve gameplay on our end. It will make server maint. easier on their end. It reduces the excess power required to buffer these graphics and it was a dramtic drop from the original beta standards. This was not because our systems could not handle it because today a hom PC can run 100% competitive with almost all of the DEV computers used for internal testing back then.
Also graphics were not the only things that seemed reduced. I had extracted some sound effects from the game for my pc theme. I noticed after doing it again recently that they were all reduced in size. After noticing this I increased some ambient volume and noticed the background loops had become annoying. Speeders have gotten so obnoxious to listen to I have to turn off the speakers on long trips.
For whatever reasons it is being done cutting corners is never the answer.
