The time has come for SOE to finally fix this loot camping and macroing problem.
Easy fix to this problem.
Area where the loot drops is, is now a PvP free for all zone. Last one standing gets to hit the loot drops, and they don't open UNTIL there's only one person there. Anyone entering during the fight, insta-TEF to everybody else. Groups auto-disband, auto TEF each other. And, just to make things interesting, add a Dark Jedi Master that aggros on the winner. Then, the person who actually got the loot can say they earned it.
The borgle caves are a joke. So's everyone who spends more than 2 hours at the bottom. I've been down twice, and I laughed my butt off seeing the AFK zombies piled like cordwood around the loot drops.

It also lets you go watch TV, surf the net, or post on the messageboard. However if you are afk, people will accuse you of AFK macroing which is naughty. I guess you are expected to not alt-tab in between spawns, however I disagree with this assumption.
I personally use a 99 cent "egg" timer to time mine, I don't know why but its pretty darn accurate lol!
No, he's not using an external macro program, and I didn't say that he was, but for the majority of timeuntil his timer goes off, he is afk while farming. He comes back to loot and then goes afkagain. In terms of its impact on the game, it's pretty much the same thing as being afk the whole time.
Now, why does it bother me? Because I like to explore. I've been to the borgle caves once, and I was pleasantly surprised to find actual loot there as I went through and cleared the caves. Now, if I ever decided to go back, I'd probably find the whole thing camped 24/7 by players who are just standing around afk looting every few minutes either with an egg timer or with a macro. I fail to see the difference between those two methods from my point of view as someone who wants toexplore the POI.
If this continues and becomes common practice, then theonly acceptable way to play at POIs will be Everquest-style camping in one location. It will become the expected norm, and people who enjoy the explore and leave style will be seen as ninja looters or kill stealers which is just absurd. How can someone who just wants to loot once be seen as more selfish/greedy than someone who is just sitting there looting over and over again and keeping everyone else from enjoying the content?
wow... im still sad that such ppl can get correspondent... but then... the armorsmith correspondent flamed me because i asked a player to refer to me as "she" because its so stone-age to ask this.
I guess you have to be an that kind of player to get enough attention from the devs.
