You should be able to go to the Toggle Mouse Mode binding in keymap and click the Clear Binding button. Then bind Toggle Mouse Mode to whatever key/button/combo you want.
Tried this... It only says that you can't unmap toggle mouse mode.

You should be able to re-map it to something, even if it is just the ALT key again. You just can't leave it empty.

Speaking of, is there any way to remap the zoom in/out for the overhead map? Not all of us have mouse wheels. I use a trackball both for ergonomic reasons and because I find them far better for first person games. But good trackballs with mouse wheels are rare.
I've never found remapping options for the overhead map zoom level, but am perfectly willing to edit a file if necessary.
Speaking from memory, if you go into Options > Interface > Keymap then click all, scroll down to Radar Zoom In and Radar Zoom Out then you can bind keys to them. I had mine bound to ] and '.
May be slightly off on that.
q´s concerning keymapping:
1: can i use a keyboard like an "internet-keyboard" which has more buttons (eg for home/fwd/back/)... can i use these extra buttons to bind commands?
2: how can i assign the scrollwheel another function than zoom character? mustnt even be a new function, just to drop the zoomer?
thx in advance
Everytime I have to use them I have to paste them from outside...
I use a danish keyboard.

Best tip ever is still
/bo trans
Would be even better if the Dev's put in a visual indicator in the ticket room indicating if the transport is on the ground and if not how long it will be....... (hint hint!!).

QFE, That would be GREAT and helpful...something as simple as making the background boards that tell planets and times and stuff, making those update with 'real time' times it saying when the transport is due and when its landed....ect. You know, while I'm thinking of clever ideasmaybe on imperial places, like imp post, dantooine.....the ticket droid is replaced by a stormtrooper...that would be cool.
Hey TH, just noticed you posted before I posted this
How about a big picture window behind the ticket terminals, showing the interior of the spaceport? That way you could see if the shuttle is there.

Oh. My. Gawd. Why did I never think of that? I've relied on getting the facing wall to render as a perfectly straight line, which takes forever and still is imprecise.
Five stars for you!
Removes the yellow brick road, leading to your latest /find target.

That part is on purpose. because the ALT mode is critical to playing the game, we didn't want players to be able to get into a state where that didn't work.
Understandably so, but could we get an option to remove it if we promise to bind another key to it before we leave the screen? ![]()
Or heck, you can even force us to.
I just like using the ALT key for many different key combinations without having it change mouse mode.
ALT-H to harvest hide
ALT-B for bone
ALT-M for meat
ALT-D for dismount;survey;remount
ALT-S for survey
and so on and so forth.
Luckily for me I have an old binding file saved that I just copy and paste to all new characters, but it would be nice to have the option to unbind ALT if we prefer, as long as you force us to pick another key before letting us continue. Let the field be blanked out, but don't let it "apply" unless it is filled in with something.
