Thread: Friday Feature: February 18th Ah, Memories!
when i think of good ole days, i think of the days i first time i met my future guildmates and friends. My friendslist is now as empty as a Vanilla Ice concert. 20 months of SWG and devs NOW want to get the ball rolling? So basically, the last 20 months has truely been nothing more than a grand beta adventure cause all that we knew will change soon. The direction of the devs now seem more towards player events than on actual STAR WARS. They are focused on making Luke make a cameo appearence in a cantina somewhere and just say "Hi, how are you" when you speak to him. Where is the "war" in "Star Wars Galaxies?". This game's direction is still uncertain even with this new direction stuff being shoved down our throats. Here are my questions...
- Will an actual single dominant storyline be ever introduced in the game?
- Will we ever move beyond quick content (ex: 1 day events) and get continual content?
- Will space ever come alive and move beyond the static farm it is now? (Killing NPC's over and over again is not what i call Star Wars)
- Will jedi stop being the dominant selling point of SWG to new players?
- Will we ever have true combat including vehicles, mounts, and droids? I'm talking Episode I tank and droid combat not this text based turret control stuff we have now.
- Are battlefields just a poor man's wish of returning revamped like we were promised?
- Willdev controlledevents be a frequent thing instead being a once in a blue moon thing? And not only held on TC!!!
- Will we ever stop feeling like SW geeks assembling in a Star Wars convention in ST armorand finally feel like we're taking part in a SW epic.
- Will the "Greatest story ever told...yours" tag on the SW box ever be a true statement? Cause i dont feel like i'm making a mark on anything. If your actions cant affect the outcome of anything in the core game then why exist?
- Will the Star Wars feel ever be truely intergrated in the game? Space feels weak, and PvP is repetative dribble (buff, equip armor, drink/eat stat enhancers, engage in combat, die 10 seconds later at the hands of a Jedi/melee stacked freak)
- Will we ever truely have roles on SWG? I mean, what if Storm Tropper was actually a profession and can pick up and storm rebel encampments across the galaxy. ST's can have imperial perks, access areas regular players cant and have a different playing style thaneveryone else.And what if Rebel Commader was as well and you could manage armies of rebel players againts the empire. Who here wants to storm the retreat and take the emporer hostage?! A Rebel Commander establish rebel hideouts and do covert work against the empire in secret.
- Will ther ever be any other well thought out multi-level branching profession(s) introduced in the game OTHER THAN JEDI?!!! Devs placed so much resources into jedi it was mind boggling. Do you guys know that litterally this entire past summer was dedicated to this one profession? Think about that.
Will the game ever be fixed?Just read all those oldpatch notes, so that question is redundant.- Will bases ever get the axe? Or just at least made better. I mean the whole drope base, defend base, log off for the night and log back in to see your base gone and an e-mail from a guy saying "I owned your base solo!!" is just old. Come on devs, go back to the drawing board with this.
I'll end my rant here. I have like 200 more questions but if any of those could be answered it would help me on decided staying with SWG or not. Been here since launch and i cherish my begining memories. But what's in the game now and not what will be in is not impressive. Dont really want to bash the game but there's gotta be a light at the end of this dark tunnel we're walking right?
But seriously, I was expecting some CURB information.
