Nope, not even close, demo at fanfest showed the jetpack flying 20-30 meters off the ground, and you can shoot while you fly.
Where at the Fan Fest? At what time? I was there and saw no video of the jet pack.
I almost saw a demo at E3, but the Dev debug command to give the jetpackwas not working properly.

Well, there are hills and valleys and second stories on buildings and you can move items in houses up and down (on a Y axis) and you can jump if you type /jump, it just doesn't allow you to jump over anything. There is definitely a Y axis. Check it out. Press SHIFT-CTRL-G and you'll see several different axis listed.

I doubt the jetpack is ingame yet because SWG has a complete loss of altitude and Y axis, etc. From a 3-D perspectivem it's all flat. You can't jump on buildings. You can't JUMP. So flying would just be out of the question. I doubt it will be made until JTL when there is a huge upgrade.

Just so you all know, in Beta the /jump command worked and items were placed above ground in buildings (not by players), but when someone complained that the /jump was not as good as a jump command that would allow them to jump over obstacles, the Devs replied with something similar to this.....
'That is because the vertical axis will be implemented with the space expansion. Until then, you will have only the animation for /jump. '
And anyone who says they have the 5th part, post a screen or STHU. The other 4 parts are easy enough to get, go make a jetpack and prove me wrong.
They COULD however, have a jetpack/vehicle that stays on a hover plane about 5 meters off the ground.. Look at speederbikes for instance, it just operates on a higher horizontal plane.
That could be done easily without a vertical axis.
But until I see a screen, Im inclined to believe were being yanked around... again.
I used to ALWAYS stick up for the Devs like thier word was gold after Beta, but the entire 'Jedi is in game, and the system actually makes sense once you figure it out' crap shed a golden light in my face that enlightened me to the untruthful ways of the Devs. I mean really.. have ever seena a manual come with a game with so little information about theway a game actually works before? Theres a reason, lol.
The Jedi thing, BTW, REALLY REALLY REALLY pissed me off, cause I believed them and wasted 6 months exploring every planet like they said to do to open the FS slot, looking for the slightest hint.. only to get slapped in the face with the ONE SYSTEM the Devs promised they would never use... mastering professions... Im still irate over that and now where I used to stick up for them, Im inclined to think they are lying... again.
I mean damit I spent 6 friggin months trying everything that the Devs hinted at with my first 2 professions I ever mastered.. only to see a ton of macroing weenies open the FS slot and leave me 6 months in thier trail eating thier dust. And all I got for my 6 months of earnest and 'informed' playing and searching was one good, solid yank on my chain. Oh.. and a 90$ charge on my cradit card, lol. I should have waited a year to buy this game I think.
God Im so pissed about that still, lol thought I was over that one... guess not.
Anyway, point is.. 5th part for jetpack? Sure, Ill believe it when I see it.

In June 2003, they also stated that the Jedi System was in game, working as intended, organic and made sense according to SWG storyline.
I do hope you see my point, lol.

The dev's have stated that the 5th component is indeed in Live servers. Read up on the SWG.stratics.com web page for the dev chat that occured not to long ago.
Have "verified" I belive the word is they use. Which basicly means they have checked the code/database for it, that can also mean that it is bugged. Or a rare drop from some mob in the bunker. On the other I dont think the Overlord(for example)has been killed enough times to be taken out of the question.

you mean they SAY its ingame. thats alot different than actually BEING ingame. we all know what they have said. the jedi thing is a perfect example. strangly the first one came a few days before a rival MMORPG (FF12) came out. coincidence?

We've had it since no later than the 3rd day the bunker was live. (The 5th part). Unfortunately the mission seems to be bugged, so if you DO make it to the bottom you'll likely lose it.

From what I remember, the Jetpack Stabilizer. Just yesterday there was a post on this forum (complete with screenshots etc) whereby a group of people actually made it all the way.. the 5th part was looted on the 3rd day of DWB opening.
The process is bugged, they got kicked out of the crafting room and lost all their components.
The thread was deleted by SOE presumably because it was turning into a flame-the-devs-fest.
In short.. don't bother. I'm going to pretend DWB doesn't exist until I see someone flying around with one first.

This was us. I am the leader of the PA that attempted it.
