Is it possible to get a great tune from a poor or fair crystal? I've always only gotten terrible tunes from them.

yea if people are gona pay 6 mil for a pearl they are crazy and rich.
but if prices every go lower, those same poeple that spend 6 mil will buy all they can get their hands on

Same thing goes for us on Radiant, Premiums are going for anywhere from 6-7 Million. But in all honesty this is just one example of how Sony DEVs do not FIX problems but just find equitable solutions to mask the old problem and masquarade it as change.
The bottom line is this: Sony wants you to play for as LONG as POSSIBLE. So....they create exp loss, bounty hunter missons, visibility, the need for pearls/crystals for exorbadant prices so they can KEEP YOU PLAYING AS LONG AS POSSIBLE TO GET AS MUCH OF YOUR MONEY AS POSSIBLE.
We complain, and whine, but the bottom line is that we all keep playing and that's why we don't see REAL change. As long as we all keep playing and they keep charging our credit cards WE WILL NOT BE PRIORITY.
Want to invoke change? Turn their heads by hitting them where it hurts the most. Take back you $15 per month until they fix the problems.

It is still not too late for Premium Crystal for every player for Christmas - as gift from SOE - Ortodox Christians (Russins, Greeks, us Serbs, etc.) celebrate Chirstmas tomorrow!!!

I can see how people would think it's totally random if you have never invested the time/money in order to get a premium as they do appear to be fairly random on anything below those two qualities. And no just because you have a premium does not mean that you deserve a perfect tune. There is still a random mod in the tuning process, but your chances are significantly higher that it will tune well. I have not tuned a premium yet that has been totally worthless, and some have been better than others but all have had at least 40/40, -7 so far. Even got a 50/50, -8.
so instead of spending your time whining and complaining in the forums why dont' you go out and spend your time getting decent quality crystals, because frankly I'm tired of hearing all the whining when 60% of the time the statements made are totally and completely misrepresenting the current system. If you get cheap poor quality crystals then you will get cheap poor quality tunes, that's just the way it works. And while I agree that "Quality" crystals should tune slightly better than they do, the premium and flawless pearls are in sync with where they should be.
I was't asking for free cystals, I am more than willing to kill my fair share of NS or work hard to buy a crystal from another person. You are not required to play with any top of the line weapon,andyes you can play without a decent crystal in your saber. However other players arent forced to play CDEF pistols and stone knives because they cant kill enough meatlumps and get a decent "premium Cdef pistol"
The issueIposted about is Jedi is the only profession that exclusivly requires looting of componets to make aweapon. The fequency of those "enhancement" items dropping is becoming more rare, whilethe amount of people requiring themmultiply every phase. Those who do have them are selling them at outragous prices.
I have had my fair share of great tunes,I have 49/49 -9's and i have 48/48 -8's. I also amased a collection of over 70 quality and good crystals beforeI unlocked. Out of those 70 only 2 where useable "enhancements."
Secondly why would something ever change or be noticed if we all just learn do "deal" with it. The entire revamp was based on people not being happy with the old system. Their opinion was voiced and the system was changed. This system may never change, but I do take offense at the comment we should "Learn to deal with it" I could say the same for Crashing, Meditate bug, remove dots from weapons bug, negitive force cost sabers, and other things that plage the styem. I am greatfull SonGouki and the developers have never said "Learn to deal with it."

A few months ago I had no problem with crystal drops, they seemed to be random but for a weekend of of work i could walk away with 3-4 Premium crystals. Now for the past 2 weekend, 8+hrs a day I havent looted a single crystal. That seems a littleoddto me, my guild and my other friends have noticed as well.
If you believe tuning is not random you are greatly mistaken. While the odds of tuning a Premium to better stats is far higher than the odds to tuning a Good or Quality they are still based on odds. The system of "odds" is based on random chances within a given set of rules. I have tuned a Good crystals to 37/37 0.07sp -7fc and Premiums to 11/11 -0fc. I chalenge you to prove to me the system is not based on odds and you can get a good tunefrom apremium/flawless every time.
Frankly if your tired of reading post about how people would like see inprovements in the system, stop reading them. The purpose of this thread was notto complain. I was trying to bring a few of our issues to the attention of those you have the ability to change them.
As for telling me I should earn them , howsplaying since launch,3 accounts 4 characters , 65 combined professions.Thousands of NightSisters, andhundreds of tuned crystals.I believe I have earned the right to bring this to the communities attention without having some one like you tell me I should stop whining.

Until the greedy people either get jedi or learn about crystal tuning the prices will never fall. I put a post up about this on my galaxy trade boards but I got 1 starred instantly so I left the issue alone.
Anyone who pays for crystals/pearls is just plain stupid IMO. The reason I say this is simple, We have a 2nd slot to use to hunt for crystals and pearls, I suggest using it. Since becoming a jedi about 3months ago I havent bought any crystals due to the tuning problems
and I wont be buying any either.
I also suggest that you post this on your galaxy board to provoke a response from the people who are selling these items. You might not like the outcome but it is worth a try
As for your 2nd Slot make your toon a Master TK/Swords/Brawler and put the rest of your SP into Medic, you can solo anything ingame with this template and it is worth it. In the last month I have looted 8 pearls all premium and I havent had a single bad tune on the ones I have looted. The pearls I bought before becoming a jedi, all tuned to a poor level and where given to guildies as decor.
Boycott Pearl/Crystal auctions and the prices will come down.

I hunt NS elders frequently with a couple friends in my guild, and we'll kill 10-25ish in a night (depending on how many of us go, and how long we're all in the mood to play).
Last night I went out with one friend and we got, in order:
- credits
- credits
- 10 heavy duty clasps
- credits
- credits
- locked container
- credits
- NS lance with base disease and 108 strength health poison
It's pretty sad, really.
I don't expect every elder to drop 'uber lewt'. We've gotten our share of very nice +25 skilltapes and we've all pulled at least 4 premium crystals from these in the last month or so -- we get this stuff because we kill a LOT of these. I'm okay with that. The good loot SHOULD go to people who stick with it. I really just wish that they'd pull some of the useless crapfrom the loot table. I can deal with rolling snake-eyes and getting nothing but credits; it's the clasps and the container that get to me. This is crap that drops from tuskens. Why is it dropping from what is arguably the most powerful mob in the game (due to high AP weapons, force powers operating on an independent timer, and lightsaber specials)?
Usually, in a night, we pull 2 or 3 crystals. Sometimes more, on a really good day. I'm going to chalk last night up to crappy luck; maybe we'll try again tonight. I really hope the developersdidn't bork the drop rate in their haste to fix something else. Furthermore, I hope they didn't nerf it on PURPOSE as a way of making Jedi "harder". Forcing people to use gimped weapons with obscenely high FC is not 'difficulty'... it's just cruel.

Only trouble is crystals are used for our sabers. Crappy ones cant be used. Also The last time i bought a T21 Rifle for my Rifleman...I didnt have to pay 6 to 10 mil for it. Again im not wasting 3+ hrs either finding no krayts (which happens often) or you find krayts and your in a grp and you get 1 or 2 pearls. However being in a grp you get stuck with nothing. Those are probably a majority of experiences of us. That does not make me gung ho to go back out again to waste another 3+ hrs. Thats why we complain.

just a bit of input that might help after tuning a few crystals a while ago when the servers got borked and had a reroll i had to go back and re tune some of my crystals resulting in different tunes i think that the tuning system is random but it has peramiters but what you must remember is a 50/50 -9 crystal is like some 250-300 max dam krayt tish think how much that would cost and how many prems you could buy with that money and the chances of tuning one of thoese prems to 50/50 -9 or around that and the price seems right then does it noght. now i am not rich in any way a coupple of crystals and i would be poor but i dont b!tch about it i just get on with what i got i am also lucky in the way i have a friend who is going to give me a few crystals. cant see how you ppl can sit here and moan all day i think im going to add in to my sig "The Only NoN b!tching Jedi/Player in SWG" lol well i have had an occasional rant at soe but we all need to vent
but not on stuff like this which is not effecting your gaming experiance this is just greed if everyone had 50/50 -9 crystals then they would not be speical and we would be saying we need higher damage crystals lol sometimes i can see what a hard job SOE relly have dealling with some ppl who play this game ohhh welll back to work before i get sacked

Can anyone suggest a system for pricing crystals? I'm on the Scylla server, if that makes a difference. Thanks!
