Thread: Aurilian Plant Care

Since my plant grew to medium it attracted 'helpfull' attention - the only building I own is a PA hall so lots of people have admin - only two of them 'helped' and they both mailed me to tell me (not that it wasn't obvious) but sadly that has put a crimp in my experimentation. Keep constant eye on your plant and don't forget that what it says on examine may not be true until it has fully loaded.

The requirements at medium seem to be the same as at small for my plant. I like the idea of a grid to home in on where your plant prospers, I'll use it if I need to at large.

I do remember there being a farmer in the village in stage one who said that they used low water levels and (I think) high nutrient, there was also a farmer who said that he had only a dead tree to show for his farming skills. The only village farmer in phase two is the one who killed his tree (I'm pretty sure its the same one, the informative farmer was outside the village walls and the failed farmer is in the same spot he was but I didn't note the name).

Another farmer said something about how the land had been lush but the Nightsisters had cursed them. Or something like that. I don't think that these guys are anything to do with this plant but I could be wrong, especialy if various people can confirm getting diferent responses, perhapse at diferent times of the day or something?

A guild mate and I tried 'nice gardner, nasty gardner', it didn't have noticable effects but I guess it would only effect weak minds ...

First thing to look for is that you don't accept the first /examine, the first time you do /examine after you enter the building the plant is often not loaded to the server and didn't update to its true condition, you can force an update by adding and subtracting a dose of water, that should give you a true indication of its status.

Next keep an eye on the exact levels of nutrient and water - remember that each catagory has two steps: you add two doses of water to go up from normal to moist and the plant can react diferently to 'normal +' than it does to 'normal'.

Finaly consider that the health of the plant can effect the conditions required for any particular growth rate. This can create a feedback loop...

OK so what can be happening is for example...

at 'good health'
your plant has say 'wilting' growth at Normal / Normal
So when the plant next updates it looses some health
Lets say it goes from 'good health' to 'fair' health
Now that can chage the requirements - so lets say in this instance with 'fair' health the plant has 'very slow' growth at normal / normal

So the next time the plant updates you get a rise in its health to 'good' and the growth rate will say 'very slow'.

At 'good' its growth rate will be 'wiliting' (if the levels are still normal / normal)
So the next time it updates it will loose condition and go to being 'fair' with 'wilting' growth rate.
It can See Saw between these until either you change the nutrients or it uses some.

Furthermore....
The 'feedback loop' can be triggerd by it using nutrients and water which can be dificult to detect (in the above example if it had been one dose above normal in each and then used one dose, you may not notice because it would still say 'normal / normal' but it would trigger the feedback loop because the plant reacts diferently to 'normal' and 'normal +').

This is how I curently understand the plant behaviour, I could of course be wrong

First off, thanks to this thread and the oneherehttp://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=236565&highlight=plant#M236565for all the helpful advice.

I bought a plant today that was medium size (Aurillian Plant). It was full of health but wilting. The playerI purchased it from had been keeping the water at Dry and Low level nutrient. She said she used high OQ resources but had done very little to care for it. She also said its growth fluctuated from Very Slow to Wilting.

So I tried a little test from all the info posted here.

I placed the plant in a private house under a light. I added one dose of water and oneof nutrients, and saw that the plant had been at a high Dry because that reading immediately went up to Below Normal and the nutrients had been at the low Low because its labeldid not change after nutrient addition. Eager to see if increasing the levels would improve the plant, I left the house for an hour and then returned to force the plant to update. When I entered my home, I noted the levels which were still the same and then waited about 2-4 minutes for the update. Sure enough, the plant had changed its growth. It is now at Very Slow. Since I know the water level was a low Below Normal before the growth changed, I added some nutrients to see if the Low level I was seeing now was a low Low (if the plant had "absorbed" some of the nutrients to affect its change). The level went up to Normal, so I took away the nutrient to bring it back down to the high end of Low.

As folks have recommended, I am now going to stop fussing with it too much since it is growing again. I will try to check on it only once a day and hope my black thumb in RL doesn't translate over into the game.

OK, just in case nobody has mentioned this yet, I can confirm that picking up a plant to your inventory puts it into stasis. My plant was full of health and "slow growth". I had to go out of town for 8 days last week, so i picked it up, into my main inventory (not in a container). Eight days later I placed it down again, and it was unchanged in every respect from the previous week, including nutrient and water levels. Suspended animation, I guess.

Yesterday it finally matured from "small" to Aurelian plant (medium size), and is now on "slow" growth. I had to adjust the WL/NL several times to get this growth rate back. (Upon gaining the medium status, it went from "slow" -> "very slow" -> "wilt"). Hoping to have a large plant soon

Has anyone posted what happens to its life cycle as a large plant? I mean, does it produceX amount offruit then stop, or does it produce fruit forever (assuming you keep feeding it)? Several per week, or what? Has anyone actually eaten a fruit yet?

Since the guy ended his post with the statement that he was going to stop messing with it since it was growing, I don't think you needed to shout your "helpful" advice since he was already doing that

Good to know about the inventory. I need to travel for a while and was dreading the fact that I was going to have to ask a friend to care for a plant. I'll give it a shot and post if I have the same "suspended animation".

Nope there are 2 farmers in phase 2 as i posted a short time ago the useful oneis at 5177 -4056 approximately. I noticed the last time i was there the name changes so look for the villager (not always a farmer) nearest this location it's usually 5-10 metres so not a large distance.

How is Fruit growth now? It seems since phase 2, everyone lost production rate.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Just trying to clarify...your plant's needs changed from one Village Phase to the next but the plant itself did not grow into another phase (e.g. small to Aurillian or Aurillian to large)?

I have gotten 3 fruits since the shift in Village phases. They are coming on VERY slowly..even though my plant growth rate is normal to fast. I am getting a fruit every 2.5 days.
