As far as I am aware you dont need to get all the XP for the Branch in this phase that you got it - you just need to unlock the branch and then you can take as long as you want to get the necessary FS XP be that the 3 Weeks of the phase or the next year. I guess if you want your Jedi as quick as possible though 1 XP Cap a day is the minimum.

Very well said for your post. There is no rule that you have to have to complete a branch every phase. The only thing you need to do isone quest per phase, then play the game as normal. You don't even really "need" to do a quest, but it's a long wait for it to cyle back if you skip a phase.

The FS conversions for combat are nothing. Try to get one line as a master Armorsmith! The conversion is 5:1, which doesn't sound bad, but we cap at 120k which makes 24k FS xp. And for anyone that has hologrinded, you'd be really lucky to max AS xp everyday. I think the estimate was that it would take over 10 months, capping your AS everyday to complete the 4 FS Crafting lines!! Add to that the resource costs, and this translates into no (non-hologrinding) crafters are going to get their FS bonuses.

I'm not sure what SOE was thinking there. Even if you go for the easier (to gain) general crafting xp which converts at 8:1, you have a cap at 50k xp, or 6,250 FS!!!. Again this means millions upon millions of resources and using practive mode to gain the extra 5% xp bonus. This just seems completely unrealistic to me. I hologrinded all 32 professions, and got my jedi in April, but the system of conversions, as it stands now, is even worse! I honestly feel for any crafting type who hopes that they can get a jedi while remaining a crafter. And for those who only want the slight benefit offered by FS skills, this is a complete slap in the face!

Yay, the same people who whined that Jedi would be rampant on all servers after P10 are now whining how hard it will be to get their Jedi. Woohoo! Good to know the sky is still falling, and SOE is still out to get me in particular.

So all throughout the silly hologrind thing, when everyone else was turning into mindless zombies or crying about Jedi on the forums, I stuck to my template and played my character. Nothing more than a passing interest in being a Jedi. P9 and P10 roll around, the system changes, I think, maybe I'll pick up some FS skills to augment my template, but I still don't really want to be a Jedi.

Then I see the enormous amount of XP it takes to fill 6 branches in the FS trees, and that you don't unlock your second slot until you reach Padawan. So I begin to think, maybe from a role-play perspective, it might be a fun storyline to imagine the feared Jedi-Hunter suddenly realizing his endowment with the Force, and his internal struggle to become one of which he hunts. Maybe I will be a Jedi... some day. Till then, I'm just playing. I'm not gonna grind a damn thing. When I fill the 6 branches, I fill the 6 branches. Same as with the hologrind, what's left after you burn through everything the game has to offer in the shortest amount of time, to get to the top? A bunch of leetdoodz who play their Jedi for a month or two and get bored and quit. All the while, I'm still having fun a year+ later and haven't even approached the "top" of the game.

The "grind" is what you make it. You can close your eyes, turn on a macro, and walk away from the keyboard, or you can play and actually talk to your guildmates and enjoy the RPG factor of the game that so many people have ignored over the past year.

I became glowy, as it were, with mTKA, ground up swordsman in a couple of days. With that template, I can max out both XP caps (for a total of 1.8 million weapons xp) in 1 buff session. This also gives me around 200,000 combat xp, combined, this nets a total of 120,000 FS combat experience.

Lets recap:

3.5 hours = 120,000 FSXP.
FSXP needed: 1,225,000

With those numbers in mind, I have to cap out a total of 10.2 times before I finish one skill.

10.2 buffs per skill, is that really so bad?

Personally, I think combat xp reqs are fine. I've been thinking about running my alt through them to break up the crafting xp grind. With a master pistoleer / desperado / rogue with novice commando, I can cap both pistol and heavy weapons (launcher pistol) xp in about two to two and a half hours. Like you said, do that 10 times, and I've got a skill tree knocked out.

Crafting xp is a different beast. The best thing I've found to grind on so far are cartridge belts at tailor field wear 4. At 299 talioring xp each, I can cap at 120K of tailoring xp in about 40 minutes. Still boring as hell, and you have to cap about 50 times to get a skill tree completed.

1 cap of elite combat profession yields 60,000 FS xp

1,225,000 FS xp per tier / 60,000 FS xp per cap = roughly 20.5 caps!

1 phase = 3 weeks

3 weeks= 21 days

20.5 caps / 21 days per phase = roughly .98

WHICH MEANS!!!

IN ORDER TO COMPLETE ONE COMPLETE TIER OF FS SKILL

ONE MUST CAP AN ELITE COMBAT PROFESSION WEAPON XP

APPROX. ONCE PER DAY!

HAPPY GRINDING!!!

Which takes about an hour or two for most master combat professions.

AND.....nobody said you had to do it in the minimum timeframe. What's your rush?

Ok someone set a few things straight for me. Currently im TKM/Master Commando and I just grind out 900k unarmed and 90k combat in like 2 hours max. Im thinking if I give up commando and probably marksman and pick up Ranger as I grind i can harvest and cash all that in towards whatever. Or is it faster to do TKM/Swordsman get 900k unarmed, 900k swords, and 180k combat (or more). At this point im thinking it very well may be because the combat exp.

So any suggestions TKM/Swordsman or TKM/Ranger. I think regardless im going to need to do ranger sooner or later for the what is it, enhanced sences stuff. But for now im trying to get the Combat prowess lines (at least the melee/ranged def and melee acc).

just someone gimme a clear Template to get this crap.

Well, here's something else for you. At MBH, 0-4-0-4 Carbine, and 0-0-4-4 Pistoleer, I can xp 3trees at a time (Carbine, Pistol, and Heavy Weapons). It's not too hard to cap 2 of them (carbs and pistols thanks to the speed cap, although you do get more heavy weapons XP than the other kind for easier kills), in one buff session, meaning that I can get 1,800,000 Weapon XP plus 180,000 Combat XP per buff session. Or 120,000 FXP, per day.

If you have 2 melee professions, you could probably cap XP 4-6 times per buff session. I'd suggest TKA and Fencer, myself, since they are the fastest.

Needless to say, you will need good armor and complete buffs (mind included) to do this very well.

Add to this that holo-grinding gave me 4 full tree unlocks, and I'm feeling pretty good about my chances to get a Padawan and re-grind the template I have now on my new toon in a pretty short timeframe.

Long story short, pull 2 missions on Dathomir that take you toward the village, kill everything in your way (walking or mounted, don't ride), trade in XP when you get there, work your way back, get 2 more missions, etc. You can make 2 complete circuits (there and back) in a buff session for a goodly bit of XP, and are making money toward the buffs you need and the armor you are blowing through.

I cancelled my account this morning. Who the hell wants to spend the next few months grinding? I thought the whole point of the revamp was to get away from the grind.

I'll never play another SOE game again.

Agreed- I'm an AS and all I really wanted was the FS crafting skills. Then I found it that completing FS crafting was equivalent to mastering AS 20 times.

SOE has my cancelation notice. I'm done with this crap game.

Besides - what the hell are jedi doing in this game anyway? Last I heard they were extinct.

Having Jedi in the game ruined it. If they wanted a jedi universe they should have made it an old republic game where everyone could be a jedi.

I am really curious as to where people are getting 900k exp in an hour. I know in geo caves if can get the 1 inner cave that is possible but since that is usally camped like to know alternitives. Since you have to be able to kill 200 mobs in an hour. The trouble I have is finding that many max exp mobs in an hour to kill.
