Hello all. I've been trying to get started fishing but having some newb issues lol. I have a pole with 61.0 quality rating, and plenty of bait. I drag the bait into the pole, equip the pole, wade out into knee deep water, type /fish, and all that happens is in my text window, it ways "you cast your line and begin to fish", or something like that.
I don't get any window with tug options at all, just that one text message. Are there some bodies of water you can't fish in ? Is there an option somewhere I need to toggle to get the fish screen? Why no fish window?
Also, on the radial menu for my fishing pole in my inventory, when I select "stop fishing", I receive the text message in my chat window that I have stopped fishing, but when I bring up the radial menu again, it still says "stop fishing".
Hmmm, ok - probably doing something wrong, unless fishing is broken and I missed some post about it.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

"unless fishing is broken and I missed some post about it."
It is possible thatfishing is broken on your server, as there have been reports in the Scout forum regarding such things.

This isn't a ranger skill but I figured my fellow rangers would know the most about this considering we seem to do the most of it.
I can't fish anymore. Last time I fished, I would use start fishing on the radial menu of the pole, he would cast and a box came up and I did the actions in the boxes that popped up. Now, with my new Ranger toon, I bought a nice pole go over to the water and use the /fish command. Nothing, it says he casts but no box comes up, and ideas on what I am doing or did wrong?

Been broken. My guess sense they are "fiddling" in there with the increased yield and all, the interface is getting a lookie into. From my understanding it was a late add and was not supposed to be important to anything. Somehow this changed, and fish meat is highly prized, along with Milk and Eggs. Those are changing as well I hear.

Figures, one of the few things to do to break up the grind and they break it.

I finally got my hands on some bait and did a little fishing tonight. It's been a long time since I fished, so there is one part I can't remember. To filet the fish that I catch, do I need any special skill or equipment? For example, do I need some special knife or some scout skill? I could care less about the meat, I just want to be able to make more bait.

Wait... you mean we can fish?
I knew that fishing pole I had wasn't for nothing...

That's interesting, because I caught some fish, but the radial menu doesn't give the option to filet them. It's just examine and destroy.

This is THE guide to fishing as far as I can see... I'ts been around awhile.
Fishing can be fun now and then too. Be sure to get a fishing pole with a high percentage (90-100%)
Sry I don't know how to clicky...
