Thread: Friday Feature Bonus: Understanding Skill Modifiers, Attachments and Enhancements
I know how the tapes should work and I know how they work right now.
The Friday feature is the should be, but as said before following this guide only helps you loosing your tapes for good.
I have to agree that a Friday Feature on a part of the game which is buggy is hell is technically lying to customers who don't yet have the game. There are multiple issues with skill tapes/skill enhancers/enhancing armorsegments/bio-engineered tissuesand the whole skill enhancement system plus you completely failed to mention the situations with food skill enhancers. The current issues are:
The skill mod UI will continue to missreport a bonus more than +25 to any single skill, I personally have two outfits which have +defence vs intimidate which when I combine as many items on me as possible reports +30/+64 which as we know is a complete lie because it's really +30/+55 but the cap isn't reported
When you apply multiple skill tapes/segments with the same bonus to a single garment only the first one is applied. This means that the skill mods DO NOT STACK while in thise Friday feature is says they will as long as the maximum cap for the item hasn't been hit. The maximum cap for any skill on any single item of clothing is +25 however if I took a +5 unarmed damage tape and applied it to some clothing and then took a +10 unarmed damage and applied it then the second tape is completely lost with no additional bonus to the clothing. According to your Friday feature it SHOULD increase to +15 however it does not.
Thirdlyyou failed to mention if food skill enhancers allow you to exceed the +25 cap or not because they are temporary, if I have +50/+75 knockdown defence and then eat some food which enhances it further will gain the bonus or will I see no benefit because I have reached the maximum possible bonus using enhancements?
Lastly in reference to bio-engineer tissues there is STILL a bug where you cannot stack the bonues without careful mixtures. If someone wants to put two tensile resistance into an item of clothing which are +15 stun defence and +4 melee defence then technically the final item of clothing should be +25 stun defence and +8 melee defence. This does not happen as the slots end up overwriting one another, typically the highest value tissue does the overwriting. When mixing multiple tissues which give different bonuses you often find that some of the bonuses are lost, the BE designer has said they are not supposed to do that but isn't able to work out why its doing that(even though he designed the damn thing)

Just to say, please make sure the systems you are writing guides about actually WORK before you post inaccurate material.
I lost +9 food experimentation over 3 tapes due to bugs, I used them in almost the same way the feature tells you to, which of course means they went pop (this was a while back).
These bugs have been reported & moaned about for months, and never fixed, yet the Friday Feature makes out that it all works out fine

On a side issue, any discussion of the fact that the only people allowed to actually GET these tapes are sitting at the bottom of easy caves, with no risk to themselves at all, AFK macroing looting debris piles. Further, please explain that CSRs will PROTECT these people, most of whom are obviously and demonstrably using third party macroing programs to get them.

- the issue at hand (the real facts and when they will change)
- the process (how can something like this still happen)
- missing INformation, such as -have the NEW (NEW!!!) schematics that give grenade assembly (beta commando skill) mod for example any effect or is is just a case of bad organisaton between DEV departments (or just carelesness as in not really caring about the work you do)?
These have to be answered! I love the game, but I don't like it, if I get the feeling the people behind it, are either stupid or seem to think that I am.

Everyone of these friday features is a greater example of how oblivious the DEVs are to the ammount of bugs in this game.
