Well from what the Devs keep saying over and over again is it will take more stradegey and faster paced, myself I don't see that, the supposbly increase of "skill moves" actualy decreased, stradegey I don't see, mainly it is just group with a big group and you can still probably solo, speed I don't see all you half to do is just ctrl click on the attack you wan't to use so they realy did not change the spamming just made it slower. Also some little problems are the graphics and sounds, they said there would be "new looks in moves" yet all they did was change the color of blasters to only 2 colors, made melee weapons sound like drums when they hit, and made this game Level Based. Like I said though and just think on what they said about it way before TC5 ever came out was this "The CU will make the game more stradgegy based and faster paced combat, new armor, new moves, and new mods." No where did it ever say they would change combat completely.

Funny, this is exactly what I was thinking this morning. I'm a novice rifleman on the TC and with all you do is spam your best shot over and over just like on Live, well, that is until the lair you are shooting pops out a MOB that is 30-40 levels higher than what you were just fighting, then you end up on your back looking at the sky for a while.

My guess is that the old SWG schoolers like myself aren't enough to keep the game afloat and they had to go this radical route as a last ditch effort. A few months down the road you'll see Smedley saying that they are "consoldating many SWG servers in order to keep the game a moreexciting place to be" just like what happened to EQ and Planetside.

I'm going to complain when I can no longer play the game I bought and am paying for just because I bought this game to craft and be a support postiion.

I support removing combat classes if keeping them in results in a "dumbed down" game

why you hate the CU so much... now it looks more like a RPG/ tactical game, then the current swg... where you go kill 60K ham if you just need to kill some time....

now you need groups to do that... i think that is the way swg should go.

Like said before there are folks that live the game and people that play the game. For some it's a bump in the road, for most it will be the end.

And you can no longer craft or be a support position because why?

Or maybe I'm reading your message wrong. You say you are going to complain when you can no longer play the game as a crafter and support position, so that means you won't be complaining anytime soon?

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Maybe you need the problem spelled out for you one more time. Someone who has no combat skills in the new level bases system will be a combat level of 1, and any creature that us over 3 levels highr that you hits for insane damage. so now when the dedicated crafter goes to survey for a resource he needs or to operate a harvestor or factory outside of a city will be facing a one hit incap from just about every creature in the game. Maybe it sounds fun to you to get one hit incapped by a kreetle, but it does not to me.

The current system allows you to put on armor and increase your ham so you can stay alive, a kreetle hits you for 10-15 points no matter who you are, new system complete screws over dedicated crafters. I wonder if you will be such a smart ass when you cant get a new rifle because all the good weaponsmiths decided they didnt like the game anymore.

Oh, I understand that part of the system and I'm as against it as anyone. Just read this. You'll see I'm very against the level system, but more specifically against the damage multiplier based on level. It is completely unnecessary in my opinion. If something is a higher level, they will generally not have much trouble defeating you without a damage multiplier. It hurts the game much more than it helps it.

BUT, even with all of that said, yes, you can get one hit by a kreetle, but you can also completely avoid a kreetle if you really try to. We have a radar and a speeder for a reason. We can avoid all matter of creatures. Sure, it might take a little longer and it might be a challenge, but isn't that what playing games is about? Finding ways to overcome obstacles, coming up with new tactics to get around aggresive creatures to get to your harvesters or factories? Heck, you could even hire some helpful combatants to protect you while you are at it.

I'm completely opposed to the damage multiplier based on levels and if they decide to go forward with it anyway, I hope they compromise by at least making a damage range that a creature is limited to. Say, 100-300 for a kreetle and no matter what level difference anyone is it wouldn't be able to hit higher that it's cap.

I'm not being such a smart ass anyway. And... I'm an Armorsmith. (with my alt anyway) I currently check my harvesters and survey without any combat skills, no armor, no buffs, etc. (whicha few people haveargued is too difficult, but I have a pretty easy time of it - even on planets like Dathomir... a speeder can save your butt in 99% of situations)

So we agree, even though it did not look that way. I also have an alt that does ok most of the time without buffs, but there are times when there is a spawn of kreetles, squils, bobcats or any other aggressive creature has a spawn right next to my factories. With a buff, sometimes just armor(depending on creature) I can still go operate them and not worry, in the new system I will need to log in my combat toon to kill the kreetles. If they are something like mountain squils, I will need to get a group together to kill the lair. Neither seems like a happy choice to me.

Gosh, first "all" people vined about the crappy combat system and they all praised "oh the combat update" Now when we finaly have got it, now they vine again.I dont like it, buhuuu.

Thank god that all those complainers makes the rules of this game. 10 people want this, 10 want that, and so on and on. THAT would realy kill the game. And do you really think that threats like "If you dont do this im gonna cancel my account" works? It was the same lame complaints when JTL was in the doorstep. Did JTL kill the game as some said. -NO it didnt.

If you dislike this game so much, DO QUIT the game instead of make lame excuses about it. At least we who like the game can continue to play it, with less complainers in it. I personaly like the game playing solo, i like most part, but not all parts.

Don't any of you see what's happening?? SOE don't want us to play SWG! They want us to play EQ2.
Why?

SOE don't have to pay any royalties on EQ2, and it costs exactly the same amount as SWG. Which means they get more profit per account.

Tell that to my newly disabled AV-21 which got trashed by a pack of nightsister stalkers just before the servers went down.

Yes...I was taking all the precautions...my radar was set to 128m, and I had the overhead map up. Funny thing was...I was driving along - suddenly I was running - then I fell over and couldn't get up. A few red dots THEN appeared on my radar. There was a big bang behind me - my worst fears realised.

So tell me, how could I have avoided the NS if they appeared AFTER they had dizzy/KD'd me and started beating up on my AV?

EXSCUISE ME, but not all players of this game is from US or even a english speaking country. So the remark about some spelling errors is so F***ING lame.
