well, guess i'll throw my 2 cents in, since i'm a Tailor, but on the Camo side of the war.
i'd suggest going with something different than most. most will wear a bikini of some sort, such as those wretched pants and a metal bikini.
i say go with one of the bodysuits instead. maybe the one that is all one solid color, and is made of ribbons, i forget it's actual name, and get it in a color that will look really good with your skin color, hair color and eye color.
if that's not your think, maybe something like a Short Wrap and a Sports Bustier or some other revealing top (don't go with metal bikini [slave girl] top since most will wear that one.)
and for guys, i'd suggest something like Pocketed Shorts and Sandals.
and don't forget if you've got the Special Edition of the game, dig those goggles out of your bank deposit box, and get them set to a color that will help accent your outfit colors and your skin,hair,eye colors.

Pantaloons are always a good choice. I had a cute outfit with sky blue pantaloons and a matching top (I forget the style, but it has a leather padded look on the straps) with a golden-brown for the pads.
Of course I came up with the color of the outfit when I found a pair of winged hotpants in the sky blue with golden wings which I used as a bikini. In my defense, this was well before they were craftable. It was truly a unique look at the time!

I like the Master Dancer look on Pani's style ideas page of lightstrider Image Designs. Substitute sandals for the boots of course. If you want somethng original don't go with the pants - everyone will wear those - instead pick some really outstanding colors that will make you stand out.

gotta go with Packs there. if you're a twilek, get some new Lekku Wraps to match the secondary color on the top and bottom, and get a pair of sandals to go with them as well.
there are some GREAT oranges and purples that clothing can be made that NO ONE ever seems to use, so look for getting them made in something like that. tell the Tailor making them to use some of the colors on the very bottom of the color Pallette. those are colors added when you hit Master Tailor, and some of them are REALLY good.
and the purples don't necessarily look too foo-foo girly either. i made myself a really nice Robe of Honor that was Purple and Black. Teero, my Tailor, looks rather dashing in it.

If you must know, Zap' is my alt. I made him a day before they handed out the token respec. I wanted to do shipwright and chef with him. I ended up doing dancer and musician just so I could respec into those profs without having to spend the millions of creds it would have taken to get the 2 masters. I also happen to be a huge Futurama fan and thought he would make a kick arse character to play shipwright and pilot.

Thank you packs for that site. I am having my tailor create the master dancer look. No worries about me wearing Ha**pants
