The only reason the settings would not save is because a file is set to read only that should not be. As for it lasting only untill the server resets.... now that is strange.

my whole profiles dirrectory is set to read only, but if it shouldn't be who set it to read only?? surely not I...i've never set any file to read only in my life...i've never changed those settings ever...so if the file is set as read only how did it get that way and why does it keep resetting to read only?

I'd love to figure this all out so i can save my damned ui settings for a change.

my swg folders default back to read only as soon as I close the properties window from resettingit. I set it off of read only (uncheck the box) and hit apply and ok. Then I open the properties window again and the read-only box is checked again. So, the problem is there someplace I think. Can you guys test this on your systems?

Your ui settings will be kept.

But, due to the soe you'll-always-got-a-bug-somewhere system (c), chat tab that are not attached to the main tab, with the type text area, won't be retained.

Also, you'll got 1 to 5 (or more) blank tab at reconnection. Much easier to remove them than redoing all the tabs.

here's the thing though...i used to have duplicate copies of the combat, guild, and group chats off to the side...and they stayed there forever...on this same computer system i'm playing on now...somewhere along the line SOE changed something...i quit the game 9 months ago, and when i did i had all those extra tabs off to the side...when i logged in for the very first time after 9 months away they were gone, and dissapear everytime i log nomatter how i log.../logout, /quit, crash...doesn't make a difference.
