Uninstall the game, run disk cleanup and disk defrag, then reboot. Reinstall game.

Its nothing that can be fixed by reinstalling the game dudes. It happens to a lot of people, it just happens, ya gotta backup ur files, and deal with it. When it happens, log and replace the uis file with ur backup, and then backup again.

Well I know when I log from my main to my alt myUI will reset everytime (Same account of course.). I can't think of where I read it but I'm pretty sure it was onone of theforums that it's a own bug. Maybe someone can verify this? Anyway I do have a way to work around it, but only for 1 toon. On my toon Ayane I have myUI set the way I likeand I did the same for my alt Ken'ichi, well both would reset when I logged on the opposite toonso I put Ayane's back, then I needed to log Ken'ichi for something and I didn't redo hisUI thinking why bother right now, well when I logged back to Ayane herUI had not reset. I just tested this again now to make sure it still worked for me since Publish 21 came out today and I hadn't logged both toons on yet. Hope that helps and if it did help you out don't worry about the 1 mil I don't want it.

If any of the three above "great tips" was from a CSR, that CSR should be fired.
If the highlighted "great tip" was from a CSR, also the head of the CS should be fired and both him and the CSR in question have their salary from the last two years withdrawn, to pay back any customers who followed this advice their subscription fees.
That's pretty plain braindead.
The third "great tip" is only close to pretty plain braindead but a considerable candidate - how many people have four PCs, just waiting to have games installed? Come on. If I even had two PCs, I know the second PC wouldn't be my "backup swg client."
The tip should instead be:
"Hell, we don't know, thanks for your patience I guess? It's not like we get paid to actually help you with your problem, but to assure you that we care. File a /bug report, submit feedback or post this in the technical forum, but we really don't have a clue and apparently neither do our developers. Did I thank you for your patience and understanding yet? We really appreciate it."

Exactly the same thing that's happening to me. I have a couple chat tabs pulled off to the side and they disappear each time I log on again. It's been doing this for a few weeks now.

I have exactly the same problem and can't fix it. I did all the stuff with my profiles folder mentioned above and so far this bug hasn't even been acknowledged by any DEV. :-/

/sit and /logout, instead of just "/quit" ing the game, or closing it with your task manager.

ok i fixed my ui saving problems...but it only lasts until server reset.
everytime sony resets the servers and the launchpad does a filescan it resets the profiles folder to read only :/
quit it sony!

only reason the settings would not save is because a file is set to
read only that should not be. As for it lasting only untill the
server resets.... now that is strange.

the only strange thing is that SOE broke it with pub 18 and still hasn´t fixed it
