Nah, I was with a group - first time I'd been in the caves - one of them was Force Cloaking and running up there - all I knew was when he came at us I was supposed to start chuckin' - didn't even know what Necrosis was..

My group and Iloaded in to kill grievous and then it loaded us all back to the forest, anyone know why?

just for sake of saying... once you're to the point you cant go any further you can do the /unstick command and it'll ut you through the gate...
you'll get his ship, a new arm, and a rifle from him. the arm seems cool gives ... you like a 5% chance to electrocute someone lol

what exploit? If you do the missions up to a certain point you have to talk to the guy in the cave.. when you do you spawn necrosis. if you dont have the missions correct up to talking to the guy you cannot spawn him.. so whats exploiting about any of it?

Part of Zaetrik's 'method' involves the exact exploit that has caused this quest to be deactivated. Don't ask me for more details, I'm not going into them.

So, your telling me, that SOE decides to disable a quest, AND DOESN'T TELL ANYBODY ABOUT IT.

This is easily soloable for a Jedi with MDef. Just turn on aura, eat your spices and buff foods and then just keep armor breaking, kd'ing and power attacks...channel wisely, and that's how it is done. Takes a little time but it's not so bad.
Also, the quest has been fixed on TC so expect it to be back any time soon.
