Each week, Q-3PO started a thread for you to share game tips with fellow players.Tuesday Tips will continue on.Have a little known command you use all the time, a cool place to visit, a trick (non-exploit) to getting more out of the game? Share it here. To get things started:
Manage your SWG Mail!
There is a “save mail” command that will save your in-game email to your hard drive.This is handy if you are a crafter with a lot of email or a player who runs a lot of events and has to manage a lot of email.
In-game, simply type:
/mailsave
After you enter the command, the computer will prompt you to wait for a moment while it saves the mail to your hard drive.When it is complete, it will give you a message in your chat window that notifies you what directory the mail has been saved to.Then, later on, you can access the mail by using the explorer to browse to the following sample directory:
.C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies\profiles\\\mail_
Inside the last folder will be all of your mail saved as a *.mail file.
If you have never opened a *.mail file, your computer will ask you to find a program to open the file with after you double-click the file.You can use a text notepad to read the files.
Also note that in the same window, there will be a checkbox asking you if you ALWAYS want to open the mail files with a notepad or other type text program.If you choose, “yes”, you will be able to double-click on any mail in your mail directory to open it with your notepad.If you choose “no”, you will have to browse for the application to open the mail file each time you double click on the file.
Make sure to choose what works best for you.

How do you mass delete your email without crashing?
Vendor spam has piled up on me to the point where it takes 10 seconds to delete one email.
Deleting more than 5 at a time locks up and crashes my game.
I have over 4000 emails stuck in my box I can't delete now, and another 200-400 added a day. It takes almost a full minute to even open my mailbox now, and I have no way to delete it anymore. I can't sort it either without making the delay to load my mail 5 minutes or more the next time I open it.
Help?
I'd like to just delete my vendor mail and keep my mail from other players.

When accepting bank tips, make sure that the first and last name of the player is displayed or it could be a fake

You can save all your mail to read later with the /mailsave command. You can read the .mail files off-line by opening them with a text program like Notepad.

Make your own emotes! Just type /emote and put in the text.
/emote makes an emote. would show up as
Willbur Wright makes an emote.
The : character works too. As in:
: makes an emote
gives
HalasterTheBlack makes an emote.
(Note: the game will tack the period on the end of the statement for you if you forget it.)

Here's a tip to help you with the upcoming change with regards to recursive macros:
(this one is just an example, but it can apply to anything)
Make a Macro called COB-LOOP
Then add the following lines:
/center;
/pause 10; <-- this number may change depending on your level of skill. Experiment with it.
/center;
/pause 10;
why not just put your COB icon in the righthand top row slot ( the F12 equivalent ) and make this macro into the F11 slot:
/ui action toolbarSlot11
/pause 10
/ui action toolbarSlot10
Pretty much shorter and never ends
When you want to end it, just type /dump

With you taking on the new position, and then botching it your very first week....
Can we move to have it dubbed "Wednesday Tips"?
First week? What about those other weeks? He didn't botch itthose weeks. ![]()
And a tip for beginners (or anyone) is to getdelivery missions fromcities that are far fromeach other (they pay the most) and check the destination location of themissions to make sure they are going to a city on the other side of the map and get two going the same place. (look for similar payment amounts)
With the shuittle waits down to 5 mintues you can make several thousand credits pretty fast. (Plus sometimes the story behind the missions are kind of cool - I once deliverd parts for a prototype A-Wing
)
