Come in from the side or bottom. You can't see the shields from the rear to lock onto them. You'll see a little yellow box around them.

When you take the mission fromt he rebel outpost, you get the Heavy X. When you take it from Kash station, you get the Vaksai. You can actually get both as a ground rebel, even though you cannot use the Heavy X. I just put mine into the bank for when I decide to go rebel pilot again.

Do you mean when you start the whole mission, or the specific Corvette mission? I'm a neutral pilot. Should I be accepting "challenges" from the Kashyyk station instead of the rebel outpost that Eyma sent me to?

Note on the vaksai: The original poster said it was an ixiyen with 150k mass. This is incorrect. It is a 150k mass kihraxz.

On the mission: As another said, spacebombs aren't really necessary. With decently crafted mark III missiles and overload 3, you can still manage to take out the shield gens in two shots.

When I was going through it, also solo, I didn't even think about disabling the ships. Nice tip. What I did do towards the end was play tag with the gunboats... That is, I'd head towards them, fire off a couple shots, and then dart away to take their aggro away from the corvette. As someone else said, they are very fast, but they aren't very maneuverable. I managed to keep them off my dunelizard somehow.

Okay, so I just attempted this mission again with my alt this time, and the gunboats have been buffed it would seem.

taking the corvette was still simply done, the fighters were easy to handle, but when the 3 gunboats spawned, the corvette was soon dead (one bonus to this is that it still gave me the prestige points for the kill because I had shot at it earlier, so it's not all bad :smileyvery-happy.

Of course, as soon as the vette was dead, the gunboats were on me, and it's true, they do handle like starfighters now with the power of a death star laser. I think it is going to be difficult, if not impossible to solo this mission now. On a side note however, the gunboats do seem easier to take out, I did manage to severely damage one of them before the other two ganked me from behind.

Take friends now, and take out those gunboats.

I stand corrected Couldn't think of which fighter it was based on at the time as I haven't flown one for quite some time

The Rebel station is in space, use the map to find it and set a waypoint from there. It's about 15k away from the Kashyyyk station.

p.s. Those gunboats hit hard, but it's still easy to do with a 2 person crew, just get the person who has the mission to make sure that they don't engage the gunboat. Heavy shields, good armour, fast engine and booster, a fast droid interface and capacitor to shield shunt 4 are the order of the day when dealing with these. It's unlikely you'll do much damage to them (although I was lagging like hell last night and damage wasn't updating on enemy ships for ages), but the idea is to keep them agroed on to you rather than the corvette or the mission taker. Just go head to head with it, boost away, shunt capacitor power to shields, rinse and repeat.

I guess it would still be possible to solo, but I wouldn't recommend it.
