I could have used this guide on my 16 hour marathon grind sunday. Just wish I could turn it into an in game pamphlet to hand out to my spin groups. Spin groups are a means to an end. I want to have fun doing the high level stuff, grinding should not be the primary mission of the game, but by the same token, nothing should be too easy.

A lot of what has been said should apply to all game content. Sure we don't have the 20 person mega groups any more, but it is very important to remember your role when going after high level content. Healers, mezzers, controllers...etc. you should have a basic idea of what you are going to be doing if you are going after necrosis for example. When my guild heads off to do some high end content, we usually divy up tasks....who is bait, who is healing only, who takes point and who is laying states. The most effective teams don't just stand toe to toe but know how to make your limitations work for you.

Once again, good guide, I think this should be stickied.

oh, and lately I have found some great new friends in spin groups. That's why I am still gonna be helping out despite having a full template.

If you're moving right along and people aren't taking their sweet time its best to just continue to attack the lair killing off the orginal spawn and the first respawn and finishing off the lair at that point and moving to the next target. You can make more XP over time doing it this way as you won't be standing around waiting for the lair to spawn more. Only a valid tactic for a spin group thats working out well, I would be pretty annoyed if people were doing it in a normal group.

One monre thing, as a carbineer/rifleman :

As the group start a new lair, wait for the first mob to be around 60% hp before attacking. Especially if you have 2 area attack available.

You'll be able to area attack continuously at this point without drawing enough aggro to pull all the mobs to your. Maybe 2 or 3, but not the whole pack.

And, did you know it's possible to do an area group with only ranged ? Lot of fun, but need more higher cl ranged on the downside.

Because its a penalty in thsi game to be a Jedi now.

Fix this darn CU where a CL71 super godly healer can outlast ANY CL80 Jedi/normal profession char in the game with no movement to his mind. Combat Balance .. RIIIIIIIGGHT!

I try to help my guild by spinning for them. It's one of the few things good about gimped MLS

No doubt there! I was able to swap my combattemplate from Rifles/CM to Carbines/Pistolsin two nights of not so hard grinding. Then, after the PvP weekend was over, I wanted to go hunting for a few days... 15 Min later, I'm a 2040 Scout. Once the week end gets close and it looks like I need to gear up for some hard core fighting, I can repair the damage to my combat template in an hour or two.

This is the thing so many of us fought when the group grind nerf came down... With a very few characters, I can explore many different templates with little time wastedgrinding out the various templates. I can understand why a new player shouldn't be able to make double master in a weekend, they'll miss a big part of the game rushing to the end. Once you've been there done that, the less time you spend grinding the more time you can spend really playing.

Now if someone can just figure out how to take the 'grind' out of grinding elite craftsmen without making it easy... I though my arm was gonna fall off when I ground MWS without Skevon.

Very nice guide. Especially the attention paid to the social aspect.

... but people, don't forget that a scenery change is the best medicin against "the grind".

Dantooine isn't the only planet in the game where you can hunt and have fun in a group
