This is an excellent guide! Well done

While I would agree with you, Thunderheart, that this is a very good guide for the Spin Group I must ask you, is this what you, the SOE Dev Team, consider to be fun and engaging In-Game Content and do you feel that this type of "content" is a benefit to the game?

Couple of things. I am not the dev team. Community represents the community to the dev team and visa versa (among many other activities).

The other thing is that I wouldn't call this content. I would call this a type of hunting activity that is possible given the open ended nature of the original design.

As to whether it is fun or not, I would say that itis fun for some but not others.

As for me personally? I have been out on some amazing spinner groups and I had a blast. It is a lot a really fast action and sometimes, I like that

Nice...I did not know about the bonus the grauls offer...

Hurton are nice xp too! I can get 50 to 60k jedi xp per mission on them (just be careful...they agro if you are too close when they spawn).

As far as lvl of missions go get lvl 78 to 81...avoid 82's as they are tougher and offer no xtra xp for the time they take to kill.

thin then spin if you have too...take out the mobs around the lair with NON AE attacks. then spin the lair.

have your spin attack on a macro...I have mine on a 3 sec macro loop...I then map that and a dump macro to numpad 7 and 8...I have my heals mapped to other keys close by. I can get in and out of my macro and heal and back in the macro without losing agro.

Have your group use low dmg weapons if they are not the main tank...one tag with any weapon = full xp. low SAC is more important so you can fight longer vs high dmg.

stay close together...that way AE heals hit everyone and the stuff is not all over the place that you are fighting.

Be careful with AE intimidate as it likes to bounce around and pick up other mobs you don't want.

If you are joining a group that is hunting already come up to 100m away from where they are fighting and have the leader invite you so that you don't give the jedi in the group viz.

don't go AFK if your mission is the next one to be fought...sucks having to wait for a person in the group to come up and cause the mission to spawn.

If you are going to your next mission and see dots fighting...go around them so you don't give them viz!!!

and I agree...spin groups are fast paced and exciting! don't be afraid to ask one or two lower lvl people in the group either!!!

Last night we had 4 missions spawn right near each other. We were spinning two piket and one bol lair at the same time...talk about high pressure!

I only refer to you as a Dev because you represent their views and actions on the forums in your sharing of information, and not to imply you do any "developing".

The reason I brought it up is simply to point out the "tedious" nature of what we, the gamer, are going through in this game. I know there is more compelling content that can be had but what we are still missing is GAME DIRECTION.

You have made a remarkable turnaround in information and I thank whoever loosened your reigns so you can share more info with us but we still don't know what to expect.

I guess what we, the community, would like to see is a post from you indicating the Direction of the game or maybe even a Large FAQ full of pressing questions.

When can pearl drops be addressed?

When will Jedi see content?

Will you cap the bases or fix something because of all the lag associated with it?

Whatever happened to turret? Are they fixed?

Are you aware of the speed bug and how this exploit is killing 1vs1 dueling?

When will the Chief Kerritamba bug be fixed?

Can you remove the Factional NPCs from the flags and make them attackable?

There are many questions we all would just like some piece of mind on.

Thank you for responding and I apologize for sullying this guys post. Please Sticky it.

If you are ever in a really really good spin group you will understand that it really can be a lot of fun. It is group dynamics at its finest. There is this frenzy of combat going on around you non stop for minutes on end.

Some of my best nights have been with a group like this. They can be really exciting and if its a good group it isn't just 8 zombies killing stuff. Its a bunch of players who know their stuff trading stories and tips.

I found those groups to be what MMO's are all about. A group of players working together to accomplish a mutually beneficial goal. I personally don't find it damages the game at all.

Groups are fun if people make them fun, ive been in groups where no one talks and its boring but anyone who knows me knows i wont let people sit in silence .

While were hunting and traveling to and from missions I will set group topics - Group topic No.1 " What is your favourite movie scene?" or " lamest hero in any movie".

Everytime i use this in group chat or guild chat it gets people talking and getting to know each other and most of all having fun, i started doing this while i was regrinding my jedi template out of bordom but i found an amazing resonce and learnt alot about people i play with what i never knew.

People will nearly allways change the subject as time goes by and it takes on an organic form but the topic isnt about debating a subject its about getting people to talk comfortably with each other and have fun doing it.

Although I agree that this is an excellent guide and I commend the author for his effort, I have found that good team work and controlled lair hunting can give xp almost as quickly and more efficientlyas spin lair hunting. My wife and I have been doing a good bit of grinding at the MO on Naritus, where groups get together all the time for grind-hunting. We are both CL 80, and are almost done with our FS boxes, so we have grinded for a good bit.

Without making a long story on our experiences, suffice it to say that we moved away from spinner groups mainly because my wife is melee with no area attack, which makes it much harder to hit all the targets generated from the continuous area attacks on the lair. With so many creatures on top of eachother, trying to tab around the screen, running like crazy, not knowing which targets you have hit and which ones you haven't, makes it very fustrating for melee players with no area attacks. I am Master Carbine, so I had no problem getting full xp from a lair with my ranged area attacks, but my wife was getting too fustrated.

So we started putting together our own groups and taking out the lairs in a more controlled way. For instance, when we get to a lair, I start pulling the creatures one by one with ranged fire. The whole group stands in front of me, and as I pull them, the whole group waits till the creature gets near, then kills it. Now, since the whole group is on just one target, the kills are fast. So with a good group, I end up pulling the next creature before the first one is dead. By the time the first creature is dead, the second one is on top of us, ready to be killed. Then I pull the third while the group is finishing the second, and so on. I have not timed the different between a spin group taking out a lairand this system, but I do know that it is not much different. And for melee players without area attack, well they will get better points from the controlled method vs the spin method.

Once again, don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful guide and definitely a good way to get xp, but I don't want people to get discouraged if spin groups are not for you. Controlled hunting can be just as fast and fun

Absolutely!

The thing I like best is that their is a choice of activities

The most important part of ANY group is that the group members are working together and having fun. Tactics are a matter of choice. If you are all working together and making it happen the group will be fun and you will get the xp you need rapidly. Spin groups are faster than non spin groups. But even a really well run "pull and Kill" group can rack up the XP pretty quickly.

The real key to avoiding feeling like you are grinding is having fun while you are doing it. That means a good group of people who are interacting with you. Just biking to the next mission shooting at each creature once to make sure you get the XP for it and moving on gets boring in a hurry. When I find myself doing that I know I need to take a break and do something else.

Five hundred stars to you - not only isthis is a super guide but better yet

a great observation on how any hunting group should operate.

If you ever transfer to Radiant give ole Meano a shout and we'll

go hunt!

When you get into a great group, its a blast. Especially how fast the XP rolls in.
