This is an even better guide than the How to Look Like a Rebel Guide. And that is saying something. This guide is great, and once my template is finished, I'll use all this information to PvP to the best of my ability. Thanks Katchiko(sp?), this guide is great!

Hey Katchiko...i had been considering goin TKM /MSwords...w novice medic and some defense from the fencer tree...was curious ur other profs and if u have had issues w this tempalte w KD or dizzy/posture change



w fencer i can eitehr up the M-Def or R-Def stats or the KD/posture change effects



Any info would be helpful...

Awesome guide. I've been in the game since about a week after it came out, but i've only recently been PvPing. The best thing is that i'm the exact same profs as you lol, master swordsman/TKM/brawler. The guide had some things in it that has helped a lot. thanks much!

/shrug I don't know what docs have you fought but the fact is that according to your own guide they are the best defense choice out there.



I know that there's a lot of difference between every individual. Every one has his/her personal tricks, tactics, or dot weapons . You can easilly KD/dizzy a doc but the thing is that they cure the dizzy. If you are fighting a smart doc player they'll knock you down themselves (I guess your template gives you some edge with the long range lunge but still), they will intimidate you, bleed you and start applying DOTs.


See the thing with docs is that unless you're hitting their mind don't bother. And as you pointed out PSG(al1 40% ) and stun helmet (al1 40%) couple of foods and couple of drink and a muon gold, if need be, will make your mind unharmable (there's another thing - the docs already have maxed out mind because they can easilly buff every other stat).


While you'll be swinging that sword and hitting for 50-100 (while intimidated) they'll have you bleeding mind much faster - hell the standard janta knife is 100 mind poison and if they're smart and carry pikes for the dots alone you'll be taking diseases as well.


Not saying that every doc if unbeatable - hehe I've seen a master doc who has played the game for 3 days(she told me she had friends and they leveled her doc so she can get money buffing). And me and a couple of docs got killed by multi clone combat medics(2) and the base's at-sts and turret (which was a shame ). But a doc who has his/her macros running his armor good and sliced, psgequipped,the food taken and the stats buffed is damn near impossible to kill. Give some singing-mountain-clan-quest-reward-mind-healing-stims to that doc and watch him take down an army.




P.S. Maybe the docs you fought didn't care enough to actually fight with all they had- maybe the easy life and you being a girl made em underestimate you, but the truth is the doc profession has a lot of potential- they're like the cleric class in classic ad&d (tm) just when you thought you had tehm they turn the combat and come out winners.



P.P.S. As for CM - I think the bio engineers could get a schematic for poison filter which could be installed in helms or rebreathers from the geo lab could work to prevent all poisons(this will give you an interesting dillema - do you wear a helmet to protect your head from hits or do you wear a rebreather to protect yourself from poisons ) and about diseases - Doc should be able to give you a temporary vaccine. or a vaccine that has multiple disease attacks protection - like master doc can protect you from 20 attacks after which you should head back to recharge. I know that Cm eating havla can throw disease/poison like a machine gun spitting bullets but it's still something.Oh yeah - CM range should be limited to 40 meters - like this pistol which is energy damage armor piercing 1 but real short range(forgot it's name ?).


Of course no dev will read this so I shouldn't bother writing it hehe(and if they did they won't listen, and if they did listen they probably have their own minds set on something completely different )

im Mswords / TKM / Mbrawler / fencer : 3/0/0/0 / Medic 2/0/3/0 , wel i once was pistoleer /fencer and had 95 defence Vs dizzy but i still got dizied . lol , personaly .. my template isnt made for PvP its made to kill karyts , Ns elders , nyax , Axkva Min , ackely solo .. its a pure PvE solotank template there are much better PvP templates out there , CM/rifleman with some TKa .. CM/ fencer with soem TKa .. the main templates to focus on for PvP : CM , Rifleman , fencer , keep in mind fencer will only be good against a few people .. i myself have several 88-90% base with 40% stun full suits and use 47% stun resist PSG's .. fencers cant hurt me enough to stop me from regenerating whatever they do .. rifleman if they have a VERY good ion rifle wil kill me but it takes them alot of time and they better pray i dont get close .. and CM wel it depends on there poisons .. the highest poison i ever had land on me was 970 dmg a tick .. no need to say i was dead before i reached the CM .. but those low 300 dmg a ticks ones are usualy a minor hasttle andi get to kill the CM before i go ..


Main things i can sugest for you are , get the ranged and melee defences from fencer .. , also 70% of PvP combat is decided by your armor /weapons .. get good armor with stun resist .. and get different DoT weapons .. liek janta knife , a Ns lance with mind poison , get one with a mind fire to , use the gamorean battleaxe . or Ns lance with mind desease i know there rare but will be your only way to dmg other people .. good armor = no way you can dmg em enough to prevent there regen unless you use doTs

true you have a point a Doc will cure dizzy .. 1 problem .doc's cant cure anything aslong as there lying on the ground . and .to get Mdoc limits you alot in defence stacking .. and i understand you point about making mind invulnrable .; lol my mind stats are 1100 / 900/900 i always use my buffbot to buff mind and other stats ( its aMmusician/Mdoc) so my mind is 1100 / 1800 / 1800 my friend usualy logs on his Mdacer Bot for me to so i get that buf to .. 2200 / 1800 / 1800 combined with 2 brnady's ( 45 min duration , 50 filling 445 to mind ) = final mind of 2200 / 2690 / 2690 remove my armor Ham cost its = 2200 / 1900 / 1900 , i have my 40 stun armor (88-90% base) , and my 47% stun PSG .. even rifleman have a tough time damaging my mind i usualy eat a synthsteak combiend with that .. the only way to hurt me is with using DoT weapons , i can use bleed . so thats no big problem .. only poisons and deseases hurt me some .. , but i also use those things , i have a 345 Mind poison 245 sec duration NS lance ( a recent addidtion ) , i have a janta knife with a 130 mind poison , and i got a janta knife with a 160 mind FIRE , usualy my tacktics go in that i lunge , posturechage , add dizzy .then aplly all my DoTs , and keeping em down .. if they do stand up . Warcry em .takes longer before they can cure there poisons , they cant cure em all at once take my word for it .. before they get rid of em all there mind has gone Bye bye


my specials dont cost any mind .. so the only way i loose mind is if they aply a good poison or desease on it .. , cause almost no weapon wil dmg me .i intimidate em to .. with me to . unless you hit my mind you cant kill me . im rather proud of my Mdoc/Mmusician alt .. it has 21+ to med experimentation in Sea's . i have ALOt of 971 power buffpacks . i buff for around 2730 ish .. GOD BLESS that experimentation pach day . hehe


but like you said every person is unike in how he combats .. but as far as ive come acros people in PvP only rifleman with good defence stackign or CM/ rifleman or a CM/fencer is a real thread .. ALTHOUGH i must add dont ever underestimate pikeman .. if they have good looted weapo,s they'll Pawn you .. there's one on my server that has an legendary Long vibro axe .. with a 1700 dmg max . *shudder * and a VERY painful fire of 450 Str ive never beat him .. to be truthfull i try to avoid him lol


so mainly best defences arent the cure's .. its Armour and buffs .. thats all .. nothin more


atleast thats my experience ingame ..

As usual, we wookiees dont get too much representation in these discussions... mainly because, although belonging to one of the galaxy's more fearsome sentient species, we are pretty much the laughing stock of the PVP world. Yeah we seem to alright when dealing out damage, pound for pound; but the lack of practical armor has us at a supreme disadvantage. (And yeah, I'm even tired of hearing the old Wook complaint about no armor. Hopefully they fix that soon)


But the reason I'm posting is, of course, to throw in the opinion of a PVP minority, and also to say this: Under the circumstances, don't Wookiee-hate if you see them as Master Rifleman combos, or even CM combos. It seems to me that the secret of our survival in PVP is keeping our distance. But this opinion may change soon as i am revamping my template with a more challanging combo.I do pretty good asa Master Rifleman, which i had in combo with Master Commando. It was a killer PVE template. But Commando just went by-by. Im going to try combining Master Rifles with TKA/Fencer or Swordsman. (orsome sort of combofor defensive stats) But if all else fails - you better believe that Im going Rifle CM. So there! Wanna arm wrestle?
