Okay, here's my question...
I have 4 free branches. Let's say I want to take 2 of my free branches in the Reflex line, do I need to train novice first? And if not, beings I saw the Captain first and did the patrol missions, will Noland train me in the the Reflex skills that I take the 2 free branches in? I am a little confused about this.
I have converted weapons and combat xp over already for novice combat prowess, and have enough for the first box and a half. Just not sure how to take my free branches.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hologrinders were rewarded alot in sense, Too much I would say. And here is why
The new quests compared to hologrinding is harder, Alot harder in fact. Not only do you have to get six branches but likely if you are a fighter like I am you would not be able to pick up anything from the Senses tree or the Crafting tree. Now, why did I think Hologrinders got too much credits? Here's why
They get :
Up to Six free branches with no bottleneck
Exp to fill said branches up
The ability to chose which branches to get
Now then, why is the ability to chose which branch to get important you ask? Well, because some branches are not useful for certain templates and the NPC quests you do gives you a set one! So you get no choice on the matter unless you read a spoiler page and change your template into something that can produce the exp needed! Thats lame imo, what they should do is let people deside which branches to unlock and then have them worry about how to fill it up with exp. You can take my exsample. I am 100% melee based and always will be, but due to SoE's way of thinking the nice Captain gave me the branch called Ranged Accuraccy as a reward for helping him! Nice one Captain! Maybe something I could use next time would be nice?!
So unless you want your six branches to be predetermined by SoE for helping the same NPC during the phases I would highly suggest you find a spoiler site with what NPC's give what quests that give certain branches so you can build your own template.
Question for Devs even though I know they will not read this thread :
Will we be able to unlearn some FS branches and pick up others when we are Initiated? Or are we screwed into having a certain template created for us?

Yes Rastus, let me find it. I should have read it before selecting which quest to do, and what free unlock to use. Because of my ignorance I'm now atleast a full phase behind due to certain branches are only avaliable in certain phases and one of the ones I want is in Phase 1 it appears.

Since I can't edit yet I will have to add a reply
Check this thread : http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=223236
And plan accordingly so you don't end up like me.
