I did the Imperial Cries of Alderaan Act 3 quest on an alt a few weeks ago and it worked ok without any problems (once I'd gone Combatant, you do need to be Combatant or Special Forces to complete parts of it).

So unless they were taken out with Patch 18, the Act 3 badges should still be available.

Formerly and partially true. When JTL first launched, the only 2 squadrons that required you to belong to their faction on the ground were Vortex and the Imperial Inquisition(Rebel and Imperial).
Now, you MUST be a member of the same ground faction for ALL 3 of each factions' squadrons.

Didn't know about the Vortex/Inquisition thing. Cool.

However, your last statement isn't quite right. This is how it works:

If Neutral on the ground, you can only be Privateer in space.
If Imp on the ground, you can only be Imp or Privateer in space.
If Reb on the ground, you can only be Reb or Privateer in space.

Neutrals USED to be able to be in any squadron, but that was changed with the GCW update.

to my knowledge, the only COA chapter badges avaialble are the final chapter... this was a rolling quest and once the phase shifted, you could not go back as the information officers and tactical officers were all updated to the current phase...

So, to start this final chapter and obtain a badge, simple talk to either an Imperial or Rebel Tactical (maybe the Information Officer; you talk to one, then he directs you to the other officer). I know there is anImperial starting NPC is in Bestine, located outside near a data terminal. He is pretty close to the shuttleport.

There is a Rebel starting officer in one of hte main NPC cities on Corellia... Tyrena I think.

LOL, which statement isn't quite right? Are you disagreeing with someone else?

That one.

Edit: Ah never mind. You were only talking about Imp and Reb factions. Sorry!

You get this for climbing to the top of the largest volcano on lok. Its a POI and its at the opposite side of the planet than Nym's Starport. BUT, if you don't want to "cheat" and use the POI tab, just open your Control+V map. The volcano is the BIG red mountain in the Southern Hemisphere.
