This one may have been posted before, but I thought it is so useful it should be posted anyway

If you use the Onscreen Waypoint Monitor you can select and deselect waypoints simply by clicking inside the monitor window. You can even open multiple windows by selecting a 2nd or so on waypoint. It's much quicker then accessing your datapad and sorting through waypoints (and if your like me you have 20+ to sort through haha).

Fix the forums so they work properly with Firefox! PLEASE!

Hmmm, I feel stupid for never thinking of that. I can definately seeing it being useful, as all my harvs are on the same planet and I could just pop open my survey tool to see which ones are dead.

COLORED NUMBERS

Go to control+O and then chat.

Add each number 0-9 and color them what ever color is best for you. Mines yellow.

So now whenany number comes up on the screen, its really easy to see what it is.

They stand out from the rest of the text.

When people give you waypoints, Tips, damage taken or given in the combat box, and many more things I cant think of right now.

i have my name colored different so i can see when someone is talking to me in a crowded area

just go to chat color in the options, and use the "add a word" option at the bottom

Yes I did this too. made all the odds reds from darkest to lightest and made all teh evens greens from darkest to brightest. made the number 0 grey. very easy to read. I also did that with words i was looking for like Empire, Rebel Alliance, Spec, and Jedi. You wold be amazed how often parts of these words show up in spatial....

MY TEUSDAY TIP (Mainly for Smugglers, but helpful for all)

You can set you mood to "Smug", by gong to control +A then mood and then click on "Smug". <-------My favorite mood! Its also perticuraly Ironic for smugglers once they read what it says when you speak in spatial!

I'm still in love with the /target command. It's been presented as a tip a lot, but I figure I'd remind those who may not know about it.

/target (name) and it'll target people, creatures, pets, even buildings!

Go to coronet and type /target starport, or /target corellia and see what happens

Try targetting the shuttle in the starport and use emotes on it. Seems the shuttle is a female.

And if you turn it over in the examine window you will see that also wears underwear and a bar! (At least, it did the last time I tried this....)

edit your chat colors to hilight important stuff:
key phrases:

completely looted - means you looted an item
your name of course
misses - enemy missed you
credits - so yo uknow when you get just money

you get the idea, any phrase that is important to notice, just highlite it

\ Shuggoth's Sugar Shack of Loot /
\ 324, -3627 - Outside Coronet /
\ -Servants of Hastur Outlet- /

Hastur - Human Jedi | Gnomely - Sull Spy | Shuggoth - Wookie Slave / ShipWright

RIP All of the above 07.13.03 - 03.20.06

that always comes in handy

also using ctrl+[number of player in group list] is an easy way to select group members fast

Hey guys great tips!!!

One question - someone mentioned to me the other day about using

the 30k vet reward as a means of keeping track of what resources are

in shift and their quality.

I have one but have been too afraid to try it in case I should accidentally

hit something and get stuck with a sub-par resource.

Got any hints on how this works?

Thanks,

M. Darkstar

By far the best option to track the current resources. There's also a nice excell spreadsheet you can download that is a god send in managing your resources and consumption.

Seeing how much time a resource has left isn't a bad idea. Might become a feature if the Miner profession ever comes back...

Another tip... repair your weapons and armor before they get down to 25% condition or less...

Here is an excerpt from a Tuesday Tip back on September 14th 2004 written by Thunderheart

------------------------------

Weapon Decay

Weapons decay with usage; each time you use it, the item decays. When the condition of the weapon reaches 25% of the item's maximum total condition, the weapon’s minimum and maximum damage starts to decay. The item reaches a decay threshold at the 25% mark.

For every 1% below the 25% condition threshold, the weapon’s minimum and maximum damage is decreased by 1%. This usage decay will drop a weapon's effectiveness down to 0.

What you can do when your weapon reaches 25% is to "roll the dice" and try to repair your weapon. It's a long shot, but it is a chance to get your weapon repaired. A weapon repair kit is an old fashioned dice roll chance to repair your weapon. If you "get a good dice roll" and repair a weapon (or have it repaired for you) back above the 25% threshold, the weapon’s initial min/max damage is restored. For smugglers, slicing in no way effects the rate at which a weapon decays, but a sliced weapon will make the weapon repair even chancier than it already is. Weaponsmiths have a slightly greater chance of repairing a weapon than other professions. Additionally, trying to repair a weapon with less than 25% gets more and more risky with each percentage point and will probably destroy the weapon outright.

Hey... where's the Live Issues thread? One live issue I have to report is the PSGs stat shifting quite often. ThunderHeart mentioned that this happens in his announcement, but is it being worked on?

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Or maybe the Devs could make it so that a surveyor with survey 4 can see how long is left on resources!
