You obviously never played EQ.

There are TONS of things in this game to do, places to see, quests to complete and more! I've been playing for a year and I still haven't been everywhere! This game is not just becoming a jedi! People should understand that! I had 74 badges prior to publish 10 and 10 professions. I got married in the game and I am still having fun with my friends. That's what MMORPGs are about. So here is an advice: You want to be a jedi really quick? Buy KOTOR!! It's easier and cheaper LOL!

Man seriuosly so many people have seen the old man already, if you havent it isnt because SOE made it to hard. Of course they want it to take a little time to get done and they want us to stay around paying to play the game longer. Thats buisiness 101 there.
AS far as the badges you need all the poi ones are in your data pad. There are very good guides on doing both the warren and the Corvette on these boards. Getting Jedi this way will probably be easier than the last way because like you said (in your homo-phobic dancer bashing fasion) you can do it using your own profession.
Also this is coming from a guy with a job and a family, I saw the old man the second day of the publish, never needed any forum to tell me how and I solo the corvette, anyone can.

I think people can judge for themselves when they're having fun and when they're not. Leave the game to us and go preach elsewhere.

ankido wrote:I've already checked that out for the old man. The problem is finding all the badges. The theme parks, the warren (have no clue where) the Jedi quests. There is no solid information. The only thing that get's me angry the most is the lack of information the game has. You have to rely on the message board and it shouldnt be like that. I don't like to post on here because it's too much drama to handle with some members who disagree. I just want to be able to find things easier rather then ask people in the game or waist my valuable time searching.
I have a life you know, and it's not SWG. Some of you might have no life and call yourself Power Gamers, but your more like non social gamers who sit behind their computer 24/7 when they can and play. Most of us have to work and raise a family and when we do have that time to play it's not enough. Does SOE know that? No, they don't care just as long as you "POWER GAMERS" aka suckers in the SOE pond continue to play.Sorry if my message is out of line, but I'm really ticked off that this game did not live up to what it was suppose to be and that's a FACT. Like I said, I love Star Wars and to give my life up to become a Jedi is not worth it.
I have 2 kids IRL. Two weeks after pub 10, I'm "barely" in touch with the force...tonight when I log in, I'm waiting for the Sith Shadow attack. What a whiner...

Any type of addition to the game is a "trick" to keep people playing. Its what we're paying for after all, them to add to the game and give us more things to do.

"You should read the whole thing and you'll understand."
I read the whole thing and I do understand.
You are a whiner and a crybaby.
Very entertaining though. Keep those posts coming.

I have to yell brown schweigert on this one. You can get the necessary badges in a week, without doing one corvette mission, with a solocharacter with no mastered skills. The thought of using planning and surrounding resources seems to have evaded most people I see playing this game. They want to run up blast, chop or kick heck out of everything and rush back for the next mission. as a low lever starting character I us to seek out the roaming Imperial or other semi armies out there and engage a big mob that was close by. Then run to the patrol and they would blast heck out of the thing. I would get max xp and since a scout I would harvest or if it were say a mauler loot the body. You could master any of the range weapons in 3 nights of casual play. Same thing with the Badge quests. You find one you can't outright kill snoop around and lead it into an aggro type mobs nest, while using masked scent, or into a rebel, imperial or other camp. As long as you do any damage you get credit. It's called strategy.
That said after the old man visits you and you kill the sith and go to the village and do the quests to open you slot you are on your way to jedi. Now the downside to the new system. If you haven't been playing and grinding to master past professions you are looking at months of hard playing and a year of casual play to even get close to qualify for padewan (starting jedi). It is not a quick trip.
Another caveat to jedi is a low level bounty hunter with defense stacking is going to pack you lunch. I have seen a master Bounty hunter easily kill the highest level jedi on Farstar. No contest. A mid level Teras Kasi can solo (in duels) beginning padewans. The idea that you are going to be a walking god in this game seems prevelent butjust doesn'thappen. Everyone I hear saying they can solo everything ends up calling for a rez sooner then later.
I play the game because I enjoy it. I like the hunting, crafting, joking, and developement of character. Go for jedi if you wish. I am currently working in that direction. I have a number of friends who have jedi characters and regular characters. I also like to spend whole game sessions helping someone new that doesn't ask for money, free armor or my taking them through the warren on their 4th day playing.

I can see where the original poster is coming from, they just drag a broke A$$ game out and want to get 15 bucks from the players for basically as little as "content" as they can put in.

This latest addition has made me want to keep playing. Not to grind out force xp as fast as I can, but at least to know I have a goal and can continue improving my character at my own pace. It feels good again to finally see the "you have gained XXXX pistol xp" message again. If it takes me another year to get padawan, then fine. I also think the new quests are fun and have other goals in game such as trying to complete the loot kits for display in my museum.
