The village should have been an immersive, time consuming, and interesting batch of quests. Instead, its just one giant xp filled time sink. The village quests were a good foundationand should have been expanded. There simply isn't enough new content to experience and become immersed in.
FS xp is not hard to gain at all, there is no challenge. Its simply repetatively time consuming. This system is blatently and obviously grindable.
The inane xp requirements for force sensitivity are rote and uninteresting to a mindnumbingly degree. FS xp is nothing but a filler tothe void between village phases.
Where there should have been immersive content there is nothing but xping and more xping.
I don't want the path of force sensitivity and jedi to be easy. I just want it to be immersive and interesting. These xp costs are in no way shape or form interesting in the least.
I agree. I was looking forward to being at the village doing stuff, not running back and forth just to convert xp that is capped way too easilly.

correct me if im wrong, but wasnt the whole reason for this revamp is so that the jedi unlock system will be harder to discourage people from getting jedi? if it was easy then this whole game would be jedi and that is something i do not want to see happen
The worst part is, many people doing the village don't even want Jedi, they just want the FS and or the extra character slot. IMO the whole extra character slot should be given half way through with 2- 3 filledFS branches, so there's still work, but not an insane amount. But to spend over 200 hours of mindnumbly boring, head smashing against wall boring grinding, it's not worth all that work for just one extra character on that one particular server.

Current system isn't harder at all. Its just as repetatively time consuming as the holocron/profession unlocking method.
There is nothing hard about gaining/converting xp when you're at master level.
Under the current system, given enough time anyone can and will get jedi. The time it takes will vary depending on how dedicated the player is to gaining xp. Point is - the system isn't hard, it isn't challenging, it isn't immersive, it isn't really the least bit interesting. It nothing more than time consuming.

Continuously grinding combat xp to have it converted at a 30:1 ratio is NOT fun. Sure all you flamers will say "don't do it then" but I've done most of what the game has to offer and wanted to try something else.Where did the concept of becoming "Uber" = Grind...Grind..Grind and Grind some more. What about the concept of Quests + Dedication to your Profession + Player Loyalty = better skills?.Please think up some actual FUN game concepts before it's too late and get away from this "Grind" mentality that you have.
before complaining about the combat xp/weapon xp conversion rate...please think about what this grind means to crafters...
even with only 5:1 (4:1 for BE's 35:1 for architects, and 8:1 for artisans) conversion rates...its going to take a lot longer to get 1 line in the crafting tree than it will to get 1 line in any of the other trees.
when crafting something you get 1 type of xp...and 1 type only. when killing...oh lets say rancors...you get 1 type of weapon xp...1 type of combat xp...and if you have scout you get scout xp too. thats 3 types of xp at the same time. if you cap 2 types of weapon xp...and get the 180k combat xp that goes with it per buff session(if you're a commando you can easily cap combat xp too with grenades)...thats 120k force xp in 3 hours, 160k if you cap your combat xp...and add in more xp if you harvest creatures. all the while you can be running missions, or camping for loot (i.e. stuff combat professions do anyway). for crafters you have to grind...buy/harvest your resources and mindlessly grind for hours and hours with no reward...and I don't know of any crafters that just grind every day on a regular basis because they can.
not saying that the combat/reflex/sense xp conversion rates should be raised (I personally think SOE should have 2x the initial rates instead of 3x)...just that those conversion rates aren't as bad as the crafting ones when you factor in how mindnumingly boring the crafting grind truly is. then add in the number of people who are bugged and can't use or even see if they get any free unlocks because they don't get that option from Paemos.
something for SOE to consider is that not everyone at the village actually wants to be a jedi...some (like the dedicated crafters that didn't hologrind to keep their customers supplied) just want to pick up 1 or 2 lines to enhance their abilities...a few of the others just want to get their 2nd character slot...and could care less about being jedi and quite possible will drop a lot of the FS skills as soon as they get their 2nd character.
so arguments about "if you don't like the grind don't try to go for jedi" aren't going to hold up for a lot of the people at the village. Jedi may also be a long tedious grind, and if you can't handle the FS grind...then odds are you won't like the Jedi one as well...but not everyone going to the village is going for Jedi...

Ah, you never played DAOC or AO or AC/AC2..... DAOC has had the worst grind that you could ever have. If you ever played DAOC befor they changed things resently you would of gone mad from all the mindless brain numbing treadmill ofexp gathering that could ever be, just be glad we have it easy here. Yes getting a jedi is a long road, but look at what you get at the end of the road. Just play like normal and exchange the exp you gather from time to time. Or just spend a few slow days grinding if your guild is not doing anything. You will get your jedi, in time.

Yep I thought that the new system would be a themepark with many many missions to actually help the village eg........
Elder dude "We found this datapad on one of the Sith we managed to kill. It contains a waypoint on Lok, could you investigate it for us?"
You "Sure"
And the missions go on a so forth for a few monthsuntil you hunt down the Sith leader (that malakay person who is the exit quest) and kill them. Then ...
Elder "Thank you so much for helping us. I have noticed that you are strong with the force, would you like to join the Jedi Order?"
You "I would be honoured"
*System Message* Congratulations you have just unlocked a second account for this server

Much better than "do this stuff if you want us to teach you this force skill" *go and do it then come back* "ok we'll teach you, but you have to go off and do the same thing over and over again until you can't learn anymore, then come back here and tell us about it, then go back and do that again, and again and again, and then we'll actually teach you what you want to learn."
