i have a force amp crystal. of course considering it "amplifies" you will most likely have to be be force sensitive to use it. It has a condition rating so I assume it act as an armor type device or a force power augmentor. i would call it an enhancer but then it would probably end up being bugged. strangely it can be sliced. i joked when i discovered this that you would need a "force upgrade kit"---well you can abbreviate on your own. in actuality you need weapons upgraded kit to complete the slice. i have not sliced mine yet. if you want me to slice yours let me know. it would be interesting to find out how the slice effects the stats on it. of course it is possible slicing the device will yield no additional information as we have no one who is force sensitive to test it out.

It's probably just fluff: a decorative artifact or possibly some sort of quest item.

To the best of my knowledge Force Amplification Crystals are used in the construction of lightsabers. While a lightsaber can operate without a force using operator, they are indeed constructed of rare crystals/gems. These gems kinds and qualities are what provide the various colors for the lightsaber and it's strength (in addition to the users ability and force levels).

After having read numerous SW universe based books I can only come to the conclusion that these crystals will be needed later on when an FS slot is opened and a FS character has begun down the path to becoming a jedi. (You'll note that opening an FS slot does not make you a jedi of any type initially. The long, hard and dangerous path to becoming a jedi after realizing force sensitivity is the true challenge for that extra character slot.I imagine finding a master in the very least to take a long long time.)

To get back on topic; however, I think you can expect to see Force Amplification Crystals in use once PC Jedi (not FS characters alone) are in the game. The demand for them would be fairly high and perhaps only a jedi will be able to determine their actual quality as they are really a meaningless rock to the rest of us. Why do we know they're Force Amplification Crystals? I don't think there's any code in the game to have it provide one name to non-fs and another to fs characters. And of course, there's the ever present mystery surrounding such a strange item that causes discussions such as this and promotes the drive toward achieving something greater in SWG.

Junk. Force amplification crystals, jedi medallions, holocrons, I got em all siting in my house on display, just junk. Random junk, nothin gonna happen with em, dont bother. Meaningless hocus pocus can never overpower a trusty blaster.

- As I see it, Sony has until July 31st 2004 to pull content, balance and most importantly "fun" out of a hat and into the game for me. I guess I can list "buying a non-refundable year's subscription" down as one of the dumbest decisions made in my life. Congradulations SoE, you took 200 bucks from me. -

That makes sense. You have no force to amplify.

I looted one of these off a DJM months ago. My holo told me to master smuggler and Im almost there. Anyway, I was looking at the crystal in my inv. and noticed I had a "slice" option on it. So I tried to slice it but only had WUK's, this needed a AUK. Got a kit sliced the sucker and got a 27% encumbrance slice. On a force amp crystal? Was wondering if one of the New Jedi could tell me what this is used for. I am on Gorath server, and I dont think we have any Jedi yet.

Yeah when I examine it there are no stats. One thing I thought was wierd is the fact that it needed an armor upgrade kit. Jedi, Any Jedi out there?

I have one. I have had it since July. Does anyone know what it does exactly ? It says it amplifies the users connection to the force. Anyway, just wanted to see if it was rare. I have talked to the jedi on our server & he has never heard of it.
