Nope, it appears the idea is that you should just use it and get it over with. I joined the game immediately prior to the token respec being granted, so as a relatively new player it hasn't held that much interest for me.

It typically pops up right after a transition (taking a shuttle, for example), so don't start crafting until it's popped up and you should be fine, unless you have a habit of extensive travel during your crafting sessions. :>

And I've been using this method for some time now, it works great.
