I decided I wanted to try Swordsman, but didn't want to sell my mains skills back to do it. So I created an alt on another Server. I didn't realise the implications of the Imperial Crackdown and the first thing I did as I stepped off the shuttle was punch a stormtrooper! He incapped me and fined me 5000 credits.... Its the only time I resorted to begging (I have 8 characters.)

For me it was a guy that was too lazy to open CTRL V to find a tailor. Always the one stupid question (and I say stupid because many times it's clear the player didn't even try to help themselves). Then another. Finally, the inevitable, "Can I have some credits?". I started speaking to the guy in spatial after that, to let others know in Coro what this guy was doing. I explained that doing missions is how to earn credits. Sure enough, he gave up, pulled out a speeder (ya, he's real hard up if he has a speeder), and took off.

These are the people that never ask if you're busy, or if you have time to help, it's always a tell, almost demanding help, rather than asking. "Where's a tailor?" "Can I have some credits?"....

What really annoys me more than tells begging for credits are those that spam their heads off at the starports asking for them... Usually I send a /tell informing them that by the time they do their spamming routine they could have made quite a bit doing missions... If they then send me a smart tell back my ignore list gets a wee bit longer...

Most newbies who realizes how it works to wear a title under the name...instantly getting (HELPER) too. So, i figured, most helpers are still newbs. It has ofcourse a few nice ppl there too, who are just willing to help and show this up. On my own i never wear that title although i do help when i can except to penetrant beggars.

I started wearing the title after just a month to help the ever greener nOObs.. First tell I got was asking for 50k.... I only had around 20k. I offer any advice but did not get a response.

I saw a guy spamming for credits the other night & just went on by as I usually do. While at the bazaar he came up to me & asked directly for 30k. I examined him to see he had 20 badges & had mastered 2 professions!! He was wearing his starter clothes........................... I did not let on & wanted to see how he was playing this. I explained that he could easily run a few missions.. he said he had no weapons.... I then advised him to try a delivery mission..... he just walked off... so I followed him & as soon as he sent his shout begging for credits.. I sent one out stating he was a master twice over with 20 badges just dressed in his starter clothes.. those around him started fussing at him. He sent me a tell that was not very nice..... as he was leaving town on his swoop. rofl

I was also approached on Dant in a town with an improved job market & was only asked for credits. As I was standing directly next to a mission terminal..... I sent the guy the way point to the terminal he was standing not 20m from.

After that I took the tag down. I hated to but the consistent asking for credits & seeing them not want information or assistance left me jaded.

My HELPER title is always on and I go to any lengths to help out a player, new or not.

The one thing I will never do is give away credits, nope, not doing it. Instead, I will direct the player to the nearest mission terminal and hold their hand until the mission is complete.

As in real life, I like helping people out but the best way to help someone is to show the way and let them execute. Giving away money or credits does not advance a player one bit.

There is absolutely not one valid reason to beg for credits in SWG.

I've worn my helper title since I started playing this game and have never stop wearing it. I use to get beggers, but that was around the hologrind days.....I don't get any beggers anymore for some reason. Most of the time I get people who really need help and I'm glad to help them in any way I can. I even just give them credits anyway without them even asking me if they seem to be true noobs and I feel it might help them.....I just do it because I can remember when I was a noob and wish I had someone give me 50k credits....well back in those days most people didn't have that much themselves...LOL

I love helping people and passing on any knowledge or tips that may or may not help others.....I'll always wear my helper title.

I had a guy dressed as a Novice Marksman ask me for help aboutThree days ago I examined him and since he had no badgesI thought he must be a real noob, anyway long story short he asked me to tip him a Million Credits.
