Who still wears their HELPER title? I guarantee that most players at some point have either worn this or searched for one.

I still wear mine and I can tell you that over the last 6 months alone, the quality of questions hassomewhatdeteriorated.

Since when does the HELPER title mean "This guy will give me credits".

I spend most of my time answering legit new player questions in planet chat.

Whilst I have given away more than a fair share of credits to assist players, I would like to see the HELPER title used more effectively. By all means, if you want to know about a particular subject or what to enquire into the game mechanics, use your search for a HELPER or planet/galaxy chat.

But please, dont use it for begging - save that behaviour for the Test Center.

I find it difficult to be a role player and wear the helper title.

It's difficult to discuss game mechanics and things like "xp" and "grinding" when you don't know that you're a videogame character.

You have no idea how long it took me to get my friends to realize that the phrase "I have some business to attend to off-world" really means "I have to log off and go to work."

I still have the helper on both my accounts. One is a fighter the other is a crafter. At first I did not have the helper tag on the craft. Was worried that players would start asking for free stuff/ credits.

I dont see many players asking just me for money. They ask everyone around me also.

Last night, which is why this is fresh, I received a /tell from a player asking if I would mind helping them with a few credits to get off the planet.

I bank tipped them a few thousand and didnt get a reply. So I replied "That should cover what you need".

I still didnt get a reply of thanks. At this point I was just thinking how rude the player was and was more than likely someone from a different galaxy just creating a new account on BRIA.

So I replied again, "Would you like more?", testing the water to ensure they were still connected and didnt crash to the desktop due to a bank tip (LOL).

I got an immediate response "Yes please".

At this point they had taken the bait and showed their true intentions. I did not feel bad for not continuing the conversation and moved on to someonedifferent in planet chat who wanted to know how harvestors and resource percentages worked.

Should we be fueling these people? How do YOU sort players out with who really needs assistance and who doesnt?

I always have my title on, and I strive to help newbies no matter what. I haven't had any tells for credits.

I have never worn the helpre title mainly because of the begging reasons shown here. I just got so fed up of being asked in general for a few credits here and there that i have stopped giving anyone anything. It is sad that I have had to do this as there are a lot of new players that are legitimatly looking for help or who are in a tight spot they hadn't planned on.

Nearly everyone in my guild thinks the same way about that sort of thing now to the point where there is no faster way to get yourself kicked out than begging. I am not going to mention any names as that would not be right but I think we have had to deal with about 5 or 6, might not sounds very many but we only have 18 total in the guild at the moment hehe.

What irritates me is when I am asked for credits and I answer that I simply do not do that but am more than happy to help them with missions, the noobs aren't interested and go to someone else beggging for credits.

easiest way to get rid of people like that is to tell em to go kill NS as they drop thousands of creds and even noobs can kill them
