I must have missed something. He refers to the harvesting quest, which I just finished. The NPC who gives you the quest, tells you that once you find the assigned spawn you can harvest resources needed for the village construction and that your survey tool has been modified to allow this. When I get to an appropriate concentration, I get a spacial message that says "harvest materials for construction of the village walls", or something like that. I am automatically given one resource, so that I collected about 8 or so pieces of resources.I got more than twice that killing sith on the combat quest. I dont see how you can actually harvest this stuff, just gives me the regular resource when I tried. Nothing on the survey tool resource list about the new resources. Did I miss how you can get more resources, or was the inference in TH post inaccurate. You need to wheel and deal with players doing the combat quest, not harvesting, as they get a higher yield.

Is there a way to get Sith Shadows to spawn, then? I hadn't found a way to get them when you need them to kill.

Wow, i know jump to lightspeed is around the corner and everything is really busy. but c'mon here, this barely borders on being a tip as opposed to common sense.

Here's some tips i would love to have answered.

Poi's spawning again? 100% of the content removed from the game for non pvp'ers. Any tips on keeping myself busy?

How bout a tip on how to avoid being visible on the Bounty Hunter terms with my Jedi? After the 'patch' my visibility was cleared. Keep in mind i have been logged off for days in plain clothes with no saber equipped. So i sign on, my alt account checks i am not on terms. i goto the cantina to get mind buffed, get some doc buffs, goto my hunting spot in endor. Equip a stun baton to finish some fencer and some comp armor. And not less than 15 minutes later. i have bounty hunters after me. Like Am i not allowed to hunt npc's now with regular weapons? is this a total BS Bug? wth! SOOO long story short, any tips on how to stay INVISIBLE other than stating the known and the obvious?

these tips would be most appreciated by the community i think...

The Real Kick in the balls was the Picture Under the Star Wars Forum on here, posted by a dev, i forget, of a dude standing next to a Ewok. Cool picture and everything, and the point was for people to post funny comments, sorta like maxim themed i guess, and they're were some funny ones, like "damn beer goggles" or "this is what you get from ordering a bride from a catalog" etc etc. Here's mine, enjoy

What a total waste of a post TH.

As for the people doing the harvest quest that lasts maybe 30 mins and gathers just 5 units of sith resource till they finish the quest, get the nice tool and then can no longer get the resources, great idea about seeing them even though the binary droid tells u that.

This quest is badly thought out, currently there is a 60% of the people doing the quest that will fail it.

So in order to get the resources to complete the quest.. I must either.. get it myself, or get it from someone else?

Gotcha, thanks for the tip!

Wow... I didn't know you could actually trade with players... /sarcasm off. How can you possibly call this a tip? People aren't THAT stupid are they?

How about fixing people who can't complete the quest (phase 2)because the damned droid won't accept any items!

V1GO;

<<Second, wheeling and dealing with other players doesn't work. Most people put those on the bazaar for 5-6k each. And since we need 200 of the stinking things that comes out to 1,000,000-1,200,000. Not all crafting prfessions have that kind of money. >>

While I agree wholeheartedly with this, even worse is the @#$%^&* on Ahazi who stands around the Coronet starport and shouts that he's offering 30K each for them! This drives the average crafter completely out of the game while insuring that he is the ONLY one anybodyis going to sell them to.

Since they are only used by crafters and are of no use to anyone else, I propose that they be given no value and cannot be traded player to player. Instead, have one of the NPC's (Quharek would be logical, since he's the Crafting NPC) able to take them from the harvesting players and distribute them as needed to the crafting players.

At 30K each you will have to spend about 6M to buy the 200 resources you need. If you don't have that money you certainly won't be able to buy the "normal" resources you need for grinding. Which means you shoudn't have taken the quest in the first place.

For crafters, for -real- crafters who actually work to make quality goods, the FS quests are complete and utter joke. This has been said more and once, but I am going to repeat it again.

The amount of XP you need to even get Novice is ludicrous and cannot be gotten in a timely manner except by grinding. Grinding, for crafters, is the -opposite- of "just play the game as you normally would". To grind, you use inferior resources and practice the object. If you craft for quality, experiment, or do factory runs you are hampering your ability to gain the needed XP.

The first phase was kinda fun. Get these normal resources and craft them into objects for which you got schematics by kinda reverse engineering. It wasn't entirely fitting to character, though, because what would my armorsmith know about mechanical devices? How about a tailor? or a doc/cm?

2nd phase required a HUGE number of looted "resources" jsut to even complete the task (which still was in no way related to my character's profession but even less so for other elite professions). In a perfect, cooperative world, getting the combat professions to share with the crafting professions is a nice idea. In this world, however, for the majority of the combat professions it just meant a nice bundle of credits. In conjunction again with my 2nd paragraph, this is the antithesis of my "play the game as you normally would" since I am diverting funds for resources for my quality goods in order to fund the FS quest. It's bad enough a crafter has to pay 50-100cpu (or even more) for creature resources jsut to get someone to harvest at all. So you thought they, the combat profs, would share these??

3rd phase even more looted "resources"...

Meanwhile... combat professions get missions to kill things. They can go out and kill more things, playing the game -normally- to get XP for the FS trees. While they kill things, they are making money on missions and on selling the sith droppings and even creature harvests.

How long does it take for a combat prof to get the XP for the skill boxes? It took me about 5 weeks to get enough crafting XP for NOVICE FS crafting because I refuse to grind and I am still producing quality armor. I still make 200+ suits a week (about 1/4 is hand-built).

What's more, this demand of crafters to grind if they want FS skills only encourages the use of 3rd party apps since there is no way to select resources without mouse clicks and that much clicking is a sure way to get RSI or Carpel Tunnel. A game is worth risking your livelihood?

FS crafting quests and XP is the crappiest thing in this game and has nearly been the thing to cancel over.

Oh... and I don't want a jedi, that's not the point and never has been. I was aiming for 3 of the 4 FS crafting lines (repair is bugged, so what's the point in adding a mythical bonus to an already un-bonused skill? 0x0 is still 0) and -maybe- one more. I had wanted to get the unlocked character slot because it gets an additional 10 lots (something crafters need -far- more than combat profs).

Yeah... I'm whining, complaining, griping, ranting.

Heres a tip for Sony FIX THE DAMN JEDI CRAFTING MISSIONS.

Honestly I how you have the guts to tell us to try and trade or steal other people kills justto get the resouces what kind of stupid person came up with that. Having done 2 combat phases of the village i had enough to make just 2 items for phase 3 so you expect me to find over 20 people to give me all their resources just to complete the mission.

Given we have 40 odd people trying to do the same oh come off it. Do you guys put any thought into the crafting side of this game !!!!

i dont think it could have been said any better 5 stars for you

personaly ive been saving sith resources on both my toons since the village opened and have been given 2 bags full from a friend in total ive only been able to make 7 items got around 20 wind crystal energy left but cant make anything from just that looks like ill be at the village killsteeling just so i can unlock and thats before i even have to grind the millions of xp to fill the bar up and see any benifit from it, to add to this i will have to try making more objects than all the other players just to have a chance at recieving a reward were as the combat quests give garantied high quality rewards like a +900 mind crystal as well as making the combat players rich from selling there sith loot

Bothans are rarer than jedi
that makes me sad =o
