Actually, COB is a 45 second timer.
Is it? Only Improved CoB should be on a 45 second timer.
Oh...I don't have the choice between the two, so Improved is all I see. My bad.

Yeah.
Another tip:
You can only use the 'advanced' or 'improved' version of your specials, if you have them.
So if you were looking to use the lower-cost lower-effect version, or if the versions have different areas of influence, different effect, or different consequences... you're screwed. Instead of healing when I'm only a 'little messed up', I now have to wait till I'm really messed up, or I waste force like a madman.

What happened is when you earned Improved CoB, the toolbar automatically upgraded you to the better ability because there is no advantage to using the lesser ability.

But in Jedi, there is , lesser force cost, different abilities on different versions of abilities. Such as Saber Throw makes posture change, Improved Saber Throw makes knockdown and much great force cost.
Or force run nerfings, improved force run has penalty on damage given while done.

If you ever wonder what weapon is certed when. Open the Holocron & go to the Knowledge Base. Search for artical 15691 & you will see a full listing, showing CL, Box & Species.
Wow... all I can say is wow. This documentation exists, but can only be found by searching for a specific article in the Knowledge Base???!!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention -- but I can't help but be baffled and frustrated with the Devs for not being the ones to get this information out there. We've got players creating their own FAQs for the CU, to which TH says, "Good work" without the slightest bit of irony. It's not the players' job to come up with basic game FAQs -- the Devs should be ashamed of the fact that the players are being forced to do it on their own.
The Devs are getting a lot of abuse right now, but they don't even seem to be taking simple steps to help their own situation. It's bad enough that the CU was pushed live riddled with bugs -- why must the Devs then exacerbate the situation by not providing any documentation on how things are supposed to work? How are we supposed to know what's a bug and what's not without communication?
I spent the first day of the CU completely frustrated by the fact that I was no longer certified for my weapons and had no way of finding out what weapons I could wield. And thanks to the Devs not informing merchants of the fact that they had to restock their vendors in order to get weapon info to show up, there was no way to examine a weapon and find out if I could wield it before buying it. Now we find out that in some arcane corner of the Holocron, the information we needed already existed -- but we had no way of knowing this.
Sorry, this has gotten a lot rant-ier than I planned, but is there no one out there in Dev-land who understands that a comprehensive new manual would help them as much as it would help us?
Don't you really mean "because we coded it that way"? You're statement is a little misleading, because advanced versions are always making earlier versions unavailable, even when there is significant advantages to using them. What's true for CoB is far from true with everything.

And because of this "feature," doesn't that severely impact a Jedi's ability to manage their Force pool? Or any profession, for that matter? Why not allow for more low action cost, lower damage moves to manage your specials bar?
I thought the automatic "upgrade" of commands and total removal of using lower level abilities was disappointing.

Sorry TH but thats not always the case. If your getting kited by a bh up a hill you would only want to use forcerun1 because you can have full damage with it. Now because of your stupid "auto-upgrade to the best version" all jedi with forcerun2 or higher get screwed. Thanks.

I am a TKM and have noticed what may be a few bugs with CoB
1. While in combat using the CoB repeatedly fails to apply the buff. The progress bar
opens and completes, but the effect is not applied.
2. When the CoB buff icon is fading, using the CoB skill fails to reset
the buff timer. Again, the progress bar shows the action completing
but the buff is not applied. In this case, the player is not able to use the
CoB skill again until the cooldown has expired, even though the skill is
not in effect.

For all the specials that have the warm-up progress bar, you need to stop moving and not hit any buttons as it nears completion. Othwerise warm-up will complete but not effect. At first I thought you needed to be standing still the whole time, but, from what I can tell, I'm pretty sure if you stop by atleast the 2/3 point for the warm-up the effects will activate.
