Thread: Becoming a Jedi
Jedi Acadamy so far is pretty fun. You start with 1 light saber, and I hear you can get 2, or a staff saber. If you dig FPS games then it's looking to be pretty cool.

The mission is probably bugged. I have completed the light Jedi's missions. You speak of the Dark Jedi with the weird fire outside the cave. The light jedi's missions involve first killing a squad of 6 stormtroopers, delivering something to a dantari, and finally killing a force crystal hunter with dark side savages as guards. Upon completion of these missions, you don't just unlock a FS slot. However, I would theorize that things like this may help some people in "checking" THEIR(not definitely or alwaysyours as this is different for all people) "Jedi Checklist." Either way, those were pretty cool missions. Basic answer to your question-NO

nobody knows just yet what the deal is with becoming a jedi.
and all the dev team has stated is that it will be different for everyone. so good luck.
What makes everyone so certain it is broken?
If I were the game designer, in order to ensure that there are never more than a few Jedi, and to be certain that there were no Jedi in the game for nearly a year after launch, I suppose I would make the force sensative slot be dependant upon a single character both mastering and surrendering every class in the game. If that were the case, the class isn't broken, no one has likely done this yet. Also if you wanted to make it so that achieving Jedi remains a mystery for a long time, I might build it as a combination lock, requiring a player to gain and surrender a series of skills in a specific order, or random skills and the combination residing with the number of master obtains vs surrenders.
I am not suggesting that this is what the Devs have done, I am merely pointing out a plausible way that the Jedi class could be functioning just fine, and yet still not have produced a single Jedi.
They HAVE said people are 'checking off the requirements' for the FS slot. So there is some sort of list. I have a feeling it's based on a consistancy of NPCs you make contact with. But don't quote me on that.
For example, my main character somehow seems to consistantly have good status with the Gungans. I have been consistantly keeping it this way because it just 'feels right'. I may be far off the path for MY particular game but we'll see.
It said something in the FAQ about player behaviors having a hinge on it.
now, i have read through up to 50 posts in this forum, and i must say there are like thousands theories how to become a jedi. and i think most are wrong. the best clue how to unlock FS is this:
"You need to seriously role-play to become a Jedi. Totally untrue. We can't really track it, as I've noted, so we can't use it as a determining factor in whether or not your character becomes a Jedi. I will reveal that becoming a Jedi will involve different things for different players: Some players might find that role-playing was a significant factor, others will feel that exploration was the key, still others might not know exactly what they did to become a Jedi. Let's all say it together: *It will be a different experience for everyone.* Those things that are required of everyone to become and remain a Jedi will make sense within the context of what a Jedi represents in the game, but they will never involve ‘chatting’ as a Jedi.”
said by a dev.
basically this means: you dont become a jedi just by killing 1 million monsters. you dont become a jedi by doing a specific set of quests. HOWEVER, by roleplaying they most likely mean talking to NPCs. (among other things) the way i understand this is, you have to do some things that will require you to, first off, make choices. to make choices i dont mean there is a right or a wrong way, it means there is a personal way. every profession/race can become a jedi, this means it doesnt necessarily involve combat, but it can. exploring every inch of the galaxy doesnt insure you a FS either. "It will be a different experience for everyone" this does NOT mean that its totally random acts, this means that every person will acquire jedi status in his own personal way. it could be a set quest starting from the same NPC, but that would be to easy and would make a boom in jedis in a few days. also, the devs have stated that it has nothing to do with a time issue. that rules out becoming master in every profession.
conclusion: the answer is right in front of us, but we're blind. im sure the devs are having a ball reading all the crazy theories.
Hi,
this has come to my mind as well: Mastering every class in the game. Which would explain the 2-3 month, when the Devs "expect" to see the first FSS unlocked. And mastering every class in the game is still different for everybody, since the ways to master all professions are quite much. But since no one knows it could be as well as incredible interesting as collecting 666 holocrons, stack them together in a new holocron item which then has to be descrambled by a group of at least 200 people so that 1 FS can be unlocked
Who knows...
If the code is in or not... Well, the Devs "stated" that the tracking is in place. Of course they state that since they want that you keep trying whatever you think is needed. Otherwise, you could simply let the game alone, cancel your subscription and play another game.
