Kurt,
Any word about the +ROOT+ that are being exploited? Or is it working as intended that players can use them to keep others perma rooted? I was also reading that damage should break a root? Is this true?
Stopping Shot does not break when damage is done.
Although you shouldn't be able to "perma-root" someone one on one. There is a timer to prevent that, though there are combinations that can make recovering from the root difficult.
Now in a multi-player PvP situation, it is entirely possible for four pistoleers to "chain-root" a single opponent in combat, but hopefully that person brought along friends
Unless that person is a Jedi, and can't bring friends, or even if he has, they can't do jack about it. Obviously this is FAD (Functioning as Designed) though right? Allow Jedi to be assisted since if 5 BH's use this, then the Jedi is pretty much fooked, especially if he's got no other combat skills and has everything in Jedi skills.
Think you have some explaining to do Thunderheart, would like to read what you have to say to try and weedle your way out of the hole you just dug there. Cos the longer you leave it, the deeper the hole gets.

Shouldn't there be a timer on this to prevent repeat/chain attempts?
This is the case for knockdown (a timer), and that's a state that can at least be recovered from.
Once rooted, we should be immune from +root+ a for a certain amount of time.

In a stupid BH-Jedi system you have bring THERE IS NO FRIENDS can manage against a group of 5 rooter BH vs Jedi. No Jedi can get help from their friends.

There have been discussions about giving the root a chance to break on damage, but nothing definitive yet.

Unless they are a jedi and another friend is not allowed to attack, but five bounty hunters is just fine ....
You see the problem?

Discussions are not a enough! you have Jedi dieing taking xp loss because of crap unbalanced programming
FYI: I'm full templated so xp loss means jack to me - Unlike you idiots I care about the other players here

I'd like to say I'm not suprised that TH posted this. It just proves how out of touch the devs are with SWG mechanics. As many of you pointed out that a padawan can be hunted by multiple players...TH basicly gave the imstructions on "how to gank and greif"a low level padawan/applaud @ TH. I hope you get fired for this sad excuse of a game you guys at devs team made. you are a disgrace in the mmorpg community and I hope you never get another job in this industry. In the future if I find out you are a dev in another game im playing I will defo quit it or not buy it.
A smart dev would have never gave this info out, knowing very well that low level padawans are having huge issues in the CU. You want to add such a skill then 1st fix BH missions so that no more than 2 BH can take a mish on a sinlge jedi or some other grief control system. Dear TH you might be worried about players flaming you in this thread, but you sure do not care about giving out information to GRIEF players. Just a disgrace of a dev.
