NPC missions are totally underated and ignored imo.
Very few people take the time out to talk to npcs and initiate these quests.
The rewards don't have to particularly valuable, but rather interesting, it makes a nice display to show poeple that youve taken time out to explore the game, its world and environments and involved yourself a littel more in the story.
Some people don't realise they are in a starwars universe these days, they are so taken up with grinding, defence stacking, loot camping etc.

My favourite is 'Make a little girl happy', you have to kill a lair and a couple creatures attached to it, bestest plot ev0r!111
j/k, for me the most fun was the complete Mos Taike storyline. I happend to log out there the first time I went to it to check the town out and by chance I logged in the day they implemented that quests. I was pretty impressed, the first non theme park storyline with NPCs who knew each other and even recognize you later! The story is nice, the reward trivial, but I love how it makes the town more real. Like in good old Ultima 7 ...

I liked the jabba themepark. Very cool star warsy type atmosphere. And you can have your pic taken with Boba Fett. Some decent loot as well.

There is also Shalera the Hutt, located in the backroom of Tyrena, Corellia. You can do the first few missions for her, but then the third one is broken. I haven't checked back recently to see if they fixed it yet.

Hehhe, nice one! I gotta try those out now
I think the one that sticks out most for me is the Huff darklighter/borvo quest.
It spansthree planets(tat, naboo, corellia), isn't that difficult, has a great reward (polished Krayt Dragon skull) and introduces some cool characters...Huff Darklighter--Biggs's dad and Borvo the Hutt--cool little blue hutt, the only other Hutt I've ever seen :-)
My favorite mission so far was for an npc I found in one of the Mos "something" towns on Tatooine. You had to help this guy leave a religious cult that was going to remove his brain! It was the best storyline ever...and they had these really cool floating aliens that were robotic-brains. (I tried searching for it but the lithium board system keeps telling me there are too many searches going on.) I don't think the reward gave you anything other than some credits, but I would gladly do that quest again if I could, as the story was so creative!

For me being a fan of some of the more noteworthy SWnovels out there, the Imperial Theme Park was very cool. You get to meet noteworthy novel celebrities like Admiral Thrawn, Mara Jade and Darth Vader. The stories are almost chilling in their protrayal of the Empire as an evil organization. It's hard to see the Empire as a force of good in the galaxy after being sent to murder people by Emperor Palpatine, and that one mission when Vader sends you to kill some rebel... just because he's there... oh man it gave me the chills.
I thinkwhat makes a good quest in SWG isn't necessarrily the loot you get or the faction, but an engaging story with realistic characters that givesyou the feeling like you've changed the world in some very small way. There are far too many quests in SWG and other games that are simply "Go there, kill that, get paid."It would take some imagination to come up with dynamic quests that really engage you in a story and increase your sense of immersion, but there are a few out there so we know it can be done.
