So Now you can get all ur xp by staying with whatever profession you choose, You can pick anything, play the game, and get your xp without being forced to grind out stuff you don't want to do. And nowguess what? You're still not happy
Why are you not happy? cause it may take you 10 months?, It took me around 10 months to unlock by grinding professionsbut I guess you are special for some reason and shouldn't have to put that much work into it.
I honestly think people will never be happy until they can just create a character and have the option to be a Jedi Master during the new player tutorial

It's the grind period. Whether it was the grind of every profession, or now the XP grind in one profession. It's just not fun to senselessly kill every living being in the galaxy over and over again for the sole purpose of gaining XP. This is one of the same things I've read many current jedi complain about. Theres simply nothing to do at jedi, but kill everything for advancement.

I suppose theres no real option in this type of game. But there must have been someway they could have made the jedi path long without requiring grinding of anytype.

I think that one thing everyone agrees on is that grinding sucks, whether it be profession grinding or XP grinding.

Maybe more quests, but nothing else you said makes sense.
If you don't like to grind, then don't grind. Everything in life is a grind, the faster you want it, the more you have to grind. If you don't want Jedi quicker, then don't grind. Just play the game until you get there. Your still conveying a point that you want something for nothing. Because if they made it 100% quest based, but it still took long hours and time, you would complain about that too.

Well I don't want to belabor the point, I certainly respect your opinion, however, had you followed the posts from the beginning you'll find that my post has more to do with enjoying content than actually attaining Jedi. It's not the case that I want something for nothing, theres nothing here that I really want save somthing to do with my online time other than grinding XP doing the same thing over and over again in order to experience some new content. A true quest based system would have provided that. The Theme Parks kept me playing, grinding XP wont.

Bear in mind also this thread started in the Game Guides forum, else I'd probably not have posted on it.

Sorry you feel everything in your life is a grind, very little in mine is. In the end it's all a matter of definition anyway.

Cheers.

If they really wanted you to just play the game the simple solution is this.

Add timers on the Jedi boxes.

Thats a radical idea isnt it?

For example:

Player A is currently out of work and plays 12 hours a day. Jedi Master in 1 month. Cost $15.

Player B has a job and a life and plays 2 hours a day, Jedi Master in 5 months. Cost $75.

If the community and players decided that it should take 3 months, add timers to make that happen.

Then create content in the form of PvE Quests and the GCW for PvP.

After 3 months both players have the Jedi Knight and didnt need to grind.

We just want you to play the game and enjoy it. Great make it happen.

Here is the numbers btw for sake of conversation:

ok so i can get a novice box and maybe one box after that. maybe 2. need 1.225 mil i think...

With all combat XP, you need a total of 7,450,000 FS XP to get the 6 trees required. That's 111,750,000 weapons XP (including the corresponding combat xp). You're 165k FS XP into that, so you only have 7,285,000 FS XP, or 109,275,000 weapons XP (including the corresponding combat xp) to go.

Quote - If you don't like to grind, then don't grind. Everything in life is a grind, the faster you want it, the more you have to grind. If you don't want Jedi quicker, then don't grind - /end quote

As it is now all the grinding in the world will not make it go faster. Atleast with Hologrinding you knew that once you saw the message you were done. There was no time bottlenecks other than what your RL gave you and you could chose to grind at your own pace.

You can of course still grind at your own pace now, but now there is simply a larger exp requirement by alot, and a bottleneck that you can do nothing about. If I wanted to be jedi in a month I would not be able to grind my way out of it. I would still have to wait for the village to go thru cycles at it's own rate.

Besides, hologrinding was easy. Efficient use of Macros, time and some credits was all it required. But if you did the combat classes first the money problem should be highly reduced. Especially if you used harvesters to help with finding grinding resources.

Yes, I'm giving up on Jedi. However since I've already done everything I felt like doing in the game except become a jedi and the jedi grind is now too long, I've cancelled my account and I'm quitting the game altogether. They wanted jedi to be more rare and I'm proof that their method is an effective one, since it will prevent me from ever becoming a jedi. It will also prevent me from paying them $15 a month and buying their expansion pack too. On the other hand, maybe there'stwo peoplethat would not pay them $15 a monthor buy the expansion if I *would* become a jedi. They have to do the best they can to make as many customers happy as possible I suppose and I am just one. Hopefully they have chosen wisely.

Folks, I suggest not going all out for Jedi until Jedi becomes worth it to play again. Patch 9 made the game alot more of a pain and less fun for Jedi, as well as the dreaded FRS has given 'Jedi' in general a bad rep as a result of the Knights 'ganking' in major cities with little opposition.

As of right now, the work vs. reward just isn't there, especially when a regular melee stacker will beat your fully grinded Jedi.

Here is my opinion. I know you did not ask for it, and you probably don't want it, but here goes. I have "played" SWG since day two (2). I, and my sons (all adults with lives), have three (3) accounts and are buying another. Becoming a Jedi is always in the backs of our minds, but it has never been the all consumming drive that makes playing the game lead to some of the negativepost I have read of late. Our main characters are as follows; A Master Bounty Hunter (that'd be me), A Master Cammando and an up and comming Combat Medic. We actually play about 10 to 12 hours a week (we live in different cities and we use Ventrillo to make things interersting) and guess what. Through the course of our normal play, and nothing else, all three of us are glowing. We ran missions, did quests (theme parks), visited POI's just to see what was there and in our normal course of play, we got the "glow". The fun, for us, has been getting as far as we have come. If we had sat down and grinded out professions or anything else, the fun and the game would have been over long ago. To us "Master Jedi" is the end game, or should I say "the end OF the game".My advise, don't rush to the end. Once you get there, what do you doYou enjoy ice cream more if you eat it slowly, at least you enjoy it LONGER.

Thank you for hearing me out.
