Funny how he's whinging about the new Jedi system is too hard, yet the majority of the whining at this point is that Jedi are too easy to obtain/there are too many Jedi running around.

I can still post until the 21st for your info.

Secondly, I never whined about the new jedi system being too hard. Please read over again.... my point is its still a grind that anyone can do. It should have been a series of epic quests. Quests are too hard and require writers with imagination, something most analytical progammers lack. There's no imagination or immersion factor with xp grinds. My 4 yr old daughter could think up a better system than this.

For those that recall from launch, it was always assumed that getting jedi was a quest of some srt. When devs announced the revamp, we all assumed that meant finally making it a quest. This is just a pathetic attempt to keep us playing. A quest is what we want, not this grind junk.

Pretty obvious what publish 10 is, a response to the backlash from combat revamp delay. Also it keep sus playing out of curiousity until JTL comes out. Im not falling for it anymore. The rest of you can remain suckers. I'll be in the background laughing wispering I told yu so (although I cant post that) in a few months when everyone screams that JTL is buggy.

Everything is a "grind" if you choose to see it that way. Back before everyone was obsessed with mastering three professions a day, it didn't matter how much XP you could make per kill, per hour, per minute. You killed things while hanging out with your friends and BSing and having fun, and when you had enough to get a box, you got a box. The previous Jedi unlocking system is what set people's minds toward how fast they could blow through the game, how many quenkers per hour they could kill, how many professions they could grind. And that's what everyone was doing. No one was playing, everyone was too busy grinding.

The new unlocking system isa major step in the right direction for this game, providing something to do that doesn't involve pulling repetetive missions off a terminal or organizing half your guild to be killed in 30 seconds in the latest hardcore cave. If you choose to play it and view it as a grind, that's all it'll ever be. In a game as massive in scope as this, it's next to impossible to progress skills through anything but repetetive action. If skill advancement was all based on the solution of a series of quests, walkthroughs would be up within a day and people would be mastering professions in hours. If it comes down to that, they may as well include character builder terminals on live.

To be perfectly honest, I've lost all interest in running missions, have never been interested in being a Jedi, and have little time to wait in line all day for buffs to participate in the dungeons or much PvP. But I'm not on here spouting off about how I'm fed up and quitting. I got a year of enjoyment out of this game, am excited for the changes coming in the next month, and will be sticking my head in fairly regularly to see what's going on lately. I'm sorry you didn't and don't enjoy the game, but these kinds of posts solve nothing and only create more bull**edit** unrest and flaming back and forth. It's utterly ridiculous. If you're done with the game, move on to another one instead of coming back as a troll.

Let us take a few moments to look at the definition of the "grind" and then look at the definition of doing a quest-based system for FS advancement...

Grind(combat-wise):

Get a mission.

Go from point A to point B.

Kill the creatures/NPCs/whatever at point B.

Go back to point A.

Get next mission.

Quest:

Get your quest.

Go from point A to point B.

Kill something/meet something at point B.

Go back to point A, possibly leading an NPC or whatever.

Get next quest.

Hmm...

Sound kinda the same?

Only difference between the two is, with the "grind" you are free to earn your exp. how you please.

If you play the game with the attitude of "I gotta hurry and grind out my next profession ASAP!!!!111oneoneone" then you of course will be all whiny like ol' Sandy here.

admiraljz has the right idea. Play the game to have fun and make new friends. When you advance, you advance. It'll be a lot more fun that way.

I, myself, am working towards TKM/Master Musician.

I don't sit there and macro-grind my way through Musician. I don't go and sit for 3 hours waiting for buffs in Coronet, then go take Quenker missions to grind my way through Teras Kasi.

When I feel like sitting back and having some social time, I find a cantina and play. I talk to the customers and have as best a time I can.

When I feel like doing some fighting, I go somewhere and just run around on foot killing things I can handle as I go, and have fun seeing what I can find in the worlds.

Sure, it'd be fun if getting a Jedi were completely a quest-based system, but at least the Publish 10 revamp puts more of a quest feel to it then your silly "holo-grind".

I think it'll be fun to get invited to "The Village" for the first time and learning about my new-found fource sensitive powers.

Also, did I read incorrectly, or aren't there Jedi Trials or something like that after your Force Sensitive "grind"??? Someone get me a link here if I read correctly.

As for the other thing you mentioned. The Merchant Nerf...

I do believe they have already stated they're looking into raising the vendor limit to something more reasonable, so whining about that is still pointless until they announce the new limits and if they are still outrageous.

Sandy: After just seeing this post alone, I'm glad you're gonna be out of here for good. If you act this childish in real life, I feel sorry for your family. Especially for your 4 year old daughter. Sounds like she's got a wonderful role model in life if you do act this way IRL. /rolleyes

Everyone else: I say we just leave poor ol' Sander here to stew in his own pissy attitude. The game is obviously better without him.

Though I do admit it's fun arguing with him. His whiny responses are just so cute!
