i use this when i kill a rebel player usually after i have force choked him to death.
I'm almost positive you can do "one off" moods:
/pointat;
/evil I find your lack of faith disturbing.;

Tip: Use Moods only when you really want to convey that tone. Make sure you turn the mood off by typing /mood none before you say something that doesn't fit!
I've actually not used moods (as cool as they've been since launch) because I can never remember how to turn them off!
For moods to be usable as intended, they really seem to need a different interface. Rather than only being something that goes on when toggled on and stays on until toggled off, moods also need to be selectable as a "one-shot" option. When you do a one-shot mood, it only applies to your next communication.
Andwouldn't it be nice if we had a toolbar we could dock to one side of our screen that displayed brief text descriptions of moods? (Icons are smaller, buttheir meaning isn'tas obvious as text descriptions like "grumpy" or "curious.") This would offer a very easy to use interface for quickly applying the most appropriate mood to any communication.
Just some thoughts....

There isn't an extra tool bar, but if you open up your Command Browser (CTRL-A) and click to the "Moods" tab, you can drag the icons to your tool bar and use them that way if you like.
I set up Toolbar #5 with the moods I use the most to have handy when I'm in more social situations.

The different chat bubbles are most often used in spam messages to add a bit of eye catching ness to them.
I know when I used to spam for my buisness I would /sing /shout /yell and a few others while dancing or playing some instument. Anything that can draw more attention to yourself improves the effectiveness of the spaming.
Other than that I have never on purpose used any of the other text boxes, other than shouting because it is a bit more catching and carrys farther (I belive). Moods I only use about once a week or once a month or so, hardly ever.
This should be considered abuse and shouldn't be allowed. ![]()
I will never understand why this game which has the best social tools out of all of the full MMORPGs on the market (it's true, you have to go to a full Social Space like There or SecondLife to find better) has taken such an extreme lax stance on this type of abuse. I've never seen any other game that tolerates this and I will be so happy when SWG decides not to anymore.

SciGuy is right, they do work for one liners like that even though they are mostly intended to be a state. The only reason why /evil won't work like this is because it has a conflict with the emote /evilgrin.
Ok, i stand corrected, it does work
(tested with /happy)
Whenever I played my wookie I used to like tying growwls and grunts to some of the unarmed attacks he did as a macro so he would growl with a jagged edge chat bubble when he was using an attack. /unarmedhit; /delay 2; /wail GRRROWWLL!
Or something like that hehe.

That really was the first thing I did, honest. ![]()
Maybe it's just me, but I had so much trouble trying to remember, "OK, thisicon means happy, this one means amused, this one means sad," etc., that I just couldn't justify using them. Too many things to remember -- overload, Will Robinson!
If there was a clearer way to relate icons to moods, I'd definitely use the Toolbar, especially if this could be combined with moods not always being so "sticky."

And obviously I need a refresher course on doing one-off mood messages!
/rueful I should have known this capability existed, shouldn't I?

typing /mood none resets your mood to default.
Erli defaults to /mood friendly because its cool when the skinny wookieee does the little bop-dance-shake thing every few minutes.
When I first started playing this game I thought the moods and emotes were one of the coolest aspects of SWG.The first macros I ever created were all "social" or "character" macros that I would use in special circumstances as appropriate. They're all still on one of my toolbars and using them is like instant nostalgia.
I keep meaning to go back and update and make some new ones. I think its pretty cool to tie them in to some of your more professionally iconic moves, just not ones you spam regularly inbattle (maybe /chargeshot though?).
/mood "blank";
/pause X;
/emote "blank";
/"chatbubbletype" "Characteristic thing to say";
/special profession action;

Do you folks ever use the different moods or chat bubbles?
All the time TH.. all the time!
Its what makes RPing in SWG so much fun... the variety of emotional styles you can use!
I love the chat bubbles, when your chatting in a crowded room.. the spiky SHOUT or YELL bubbles *really* stand out over the other more mundane ones.... and the announce/state/etc (other varieties of chat bubbles) i use in JTL for MP ships... got some sweet RP macros with tons of text in them, timed to go with the amount of time it takes for the hypespace counter to clock down... its sweet!
And they are built almost solely around the chat bubble variety available.
Please!.. Youve taken away actors... DONT take away moods and chat bubbles too!
Oh.. and thank you Warryr for the tip!
I knew about /whisper>PlayerName... but I didnt know about the /sing emote thing... looking forward to trying that out!
