I use weapon, and cap overloads all the time, as soon as I get in space if i know I will bew fighting. They make a large difference. I think I am using version 3 of those. I also use the cap to shield, won't leave home without that one

The engine overload is nice to have but not neccessary, it obviously increases your speed. You only need the reactor overload if your reactor can't cover all the stuff you put in your ship. When you get to space, hit it,and you will have more reacto energy. No idea how much extra it gives, never used it.

Oh hehe almost forgot. I can solo the mission up to the point there i'm escorting the vette. When the gun boats appear for some reason they kill me everytime. I can disable a vette, but I can't take out a T4 or T5 gunboat hehe. If you are having troubles I would suggest examining what you have in your ship. On my Xwing I put mostly all low level items except weapons. I dropped my armor to almost nothing, like 400-500 pnts with low mass, and put in a nice shield gen with 1900pnts. I normally use 2 Lvl8 wpns, and 1 Lvl7, but I lowered those to fit in my missile launcher. Mark 4(or was it 3?) launcher with missiles that have a max dmg around 9999. Anyway hope that helps.

its possible you may have lagged or something and clicked through it without realizing...IIRC "weak" is the upper answer and "strong" is the lower, so if you double-clicked the previous question by mistake you might have answered weak

at any rate, if youre stuck in a loop, you're stuck, and thats that till they fix it

I helped several people with freighter escort missions like yours. Those were always duty missions from the kashyyyk space station (and I was always pissed off on wasting my time on those).

Sometimes the duty missions are not that easy to recognize, just open the datapad, get the radial menu and look for the "end duty" option. If you get the "end duty" go looking for another mission from the same starter or another one, if there isnt any real mission from either the npc on ground, the kashyyyk space station or your faction station you might be stuck because of that "weak" bug mentioned above.

Do not disable vette until it is 6100m from reb station, then disable and escort, you'll only see 2 gunships if any before complete.

dont bother with that, its a waste of time....go ahead and disable the vette soon as you clear off the initial escort, then clean off the fighter waves, wait till the gunboats show, fall back 1000m, matchspeed with the vette, and go make yourselfa quesadilla cuz the vette can tank those gunnies all night and day

Better yet! Target the Reb outpost and autopilot to it. Wait for the vette to come to you then pick up your goods!.

you sure you wont fail the mission if you get too far from the vette? escort missions usually dont let you get much farther than 1500m

Ok anyone know where a walk-through for the Adv. X-wing is. I keep hearing you all talk about Corvettes and either I'm just at the begining getting my but kicked asa Master Pilot, the Dev's changes the quest, or I'm doing some other quest.I got my mission from the Kashyyyk space station after helping some Civilian protection agency guy on the planet. The space staion told me to talk to the YT-1300. Now I battle a wave or two of Tier 5 fighters then a gunship (tier 5) jumps in with full fighter support, oh did I say there were all Tier 5. I dispatch the Gunship and Fighters and think wow that was kinda hard when two more Gunships drop in righton top of me... well thats as far as I get. Done it twice now and managed to destroy one Gunship but I'm really messed up past that point and the other gunship gets me. Is this the same quest you all are talking about, and if not then were to I get the solo-able Adv X-wing quest with an EZ Corvette to take out.

you gotta go to the Rebel Outpost in Kashyyyk space, not to the YT1300 - thats just an impossible duty

Is it possible to disable the vette without missiles? I tried the tactic of following directly behind it, and targetting the shields, however when I hit the shields from that positiion with my lasers it does absolutelyno damage to them. Same thing with the secondary shields. Do I have to be in a different position to hit the shields with my lasers, and if so how do I avoid getting hit? Otherwise what is the best missiles I can use to disable it? I'm at 3333.

Its possible, but you better be one ballsy pilot, fast on the CapShunt, with no less than 1100 speed WITHOUT boosters. You get a small break with this Corvette unlike the Kessel Corvette, because it doesn't have gunboat escorts, but that's the ONLY break you get.

Targeting through the ship only works with missiles, otherwise, you do boom and zoom strafing attacks.

OK this thread has alot of good info. I haven't completed this quest yet but have come very close. Now that I have read this thread I will finish it when I get home.

I have answers to a couple of questions.

Yes you can disable the vette only using lasers but it is very difficult to get into the right position while staying below the level of the vette. Once the escorts are taken out, I target weapon #5 and attack the vette from below. Weapon #5 can be taken out pretty quickly and I took no serious damage. Then match speed with the vette and guide your ship to about mid-ship. Target shields and slowly move yourself to the left, coming out from underneath but staying below its level. The shield generator is near the front of the ship and to get the proper angle you have to move out a little ways. Just shoot it until you see you are damaging it. Once its down do the same thing from the right side targeting secondary shields. Once they are down just stop and let the vette pass over you and then get his engines. Once its back underway stay close to the vette and its guns will do the work for you. As I said I haven't completed this yet because I keep flying out and attacking the attacking mercenaries as its pretty fun. Cycling through targets I get a teir 5 and start to take it on when i notice its a gunboat and next thing is I'm dead. Sounds like the best thing to do is stick with the vette and let those uber guns do most of the work!

well, I completed this mission, first I take the escort out, then I wait until 6000 of distance from the rebel outpost, then atacked the turret 5, then shields and finally the engines. Waited until the corvette was friendly, and then escorted it, I take out four waves of enemies, in the last wave apeared one gunship, in that moment I received the message of mission completed, but the gunship came behind me, so I used the /iffscramble and make a jump to get out of there, waited 5 minutes and returned to retrieve the Adv. x-wing in the Rebel Outpost. Easy.
