At least some of the pieces of the "Marine Armor" do look vaguely Rebel. Even if they other pieces look like sort of a Flash-Gordon-Reject-Kind-Of-Rebel.

Nice to see that there is going to be new rebel armor in the game, the marine armor SUCKS! lol. I mean come on! I feel like a boob in the armor, heck the helmet almost has that look to it. Also happy to see that its going to be craftiable, and I pray its one the the better protecting type armor out there. I love to see more people walk around in this stuff, at least when PvPing.

I think it's a catch-22 situation. In the movies Lucas wanted to show the Rebels as out-gunned (armoured?) and in desperate trouble. In-game they want to create a large raging war. There's just no way the Rebels would engage in out and out fighting with no armour of their own. Nothing in the movies constitutes "armour". None of it.

Having said that, the designs are a little too organic. I would prefer something that looked like it was held together with spit and prayers. We can assume they had the resources to develop and manufacture armour (as common sense would dictate), but I think a certain crafted with whatever resource could be scounged element needs to be added.

You could argue that rebel guilds are equivalent to terrorist cells. Working for the cause but not fully as part of it.

Anyway. It looks promising.

Do you just type stuff so people can see what your saying, because your criticizing every comment someone makes about the new armor not being star warsy. Why do u even care your not even a rebel. True you can get the clothes I was talking about in game now, but they could have came up with a better concept with whats in the movies. I have my opinion and you have yours, but don't try and talk down on me and other people for voicing how we feel.I'm sure you've voiced your opinion about somethin you didn't like in swg.Your right, I don't have to wear it. Its not like I'm gonna quit the game because there putting this new rebel armor in. I'm a bigger man than that.

Good job on the armor.

I feel that this armor would represent what would be issued armor for the classes and factions. If you look at the rebel armor every suit is has a lot of cloth workings to it makin it look less armory vs its imp counter part.

The Reconnaissance Armor is clearly the most obvious being that its mainly cloth with shoulder pads, light boots and gloves.

Looking at the rebel battle armor the boots look like a thick padded material the upper legs appear to be pants with minimum padding to the sides. Chest armor to my perspective looks to be a mixture of padded and a more solid material. Shoulders are definitly a solid material. The rebel set looks to be more cumbersome do to the bulkiness of the heavy padding/solid material mixture where as the imp armor has a lighter but sturdier look do to the composite material that makes up the armor.

As for the third set, assualt armor, the imp appears to be an enhanced version of the battle armor. The rebel set still apears to bebased on clothing with armor on top. Boots are a solid material with the pants alsohaving the solid armor on the side. Chest plating was upgraded to a full solid material instead of the mixed. The chest lacks any shoulder and upper arm protection that the battle assualt had but uses a specialized shirt underneath that adds some bicep and forearmsolid protection.

Once again I state that all the rebel armor come off as a lower quality of its imp counter part. Some may say that the rebel armor looks cooler then the imp(cept for maybe the recon set) but how long have you all been looking at different versions of ST armor which is the what all the imp armor looks like. For those that state but thats not the armor used in the movies. I have to say this, at no time in any of the first 3 movies released to the public did we ever see the rebels put a full out ground assualt on the alliance. In the beginning of the first movie the Rebs were fleeing when they were finally boarded they werent in armor because they werent prepaired for a close quarter battle unlike the alliance who had a boarding party ready. Situation was grab a gun and do your best. Even the hoth situation they were defending so they can evac as quickly as possible so why would they stop take the time to get into the heavy slow cumbersome armor when they werent even planning on staying long enough to do a man on man battle. What they were wearing was light extreme cold weather gear. Also HOTH ISNT EVEN IN THE GAME so why should the hoth specialized armor argument even be brought up. Then we come to those saying ooh the armor used on Endor, yes rebs are on the offencive but not a full blown ground conflict, this was a light covert operation requiring light camo. Once again we never see full blown ground assualts in the movies that were started by the rebs. We do see space conflicts where the rebs have advance space fighter squadrons so why wouldnt they have the same preparations for ground assualts. Or do you really believe that the whole conflict between the rebellion and empire was held in space with a few small battles on the ground.

As to the whole open helmet argument. Yes in a movie it allows you to grow an emotional attachment to the rebs since we see their faces. This isnt a movie, this is a game, im a neutral citizin do you think im goin to run for my life IN GAME cause i see a group of fully armored REBS... NOT!!!. YES THIS IS A ROLEPLAYING GAMEbut how do you lose that role of being a REBEL because your face is covered??? What your face is hidden so now youhave become impotent from being able to stand up to the empire?Yes im sure when casually walking through acity the rebels would lift theirvisors to show their faces buti doubt to code something like that with all that does need to be fixed/improved in this game would be a huge waste of time. Armor is made for fighting, while im fighting i want as much protection on as much of my body as possible. If you want your face shown walkin in town REMOVE THE HELMET.To those of you who are trying to roleplay but keep crying IT WASNT IN THE MOVIE's truly lack the imagination to roleplay.
