The best way to experiment on your plant seems to be to make sure you are loged in for a little while before you test the plant. Much like buildings etc. the plant only updates when it is fully loaded to the server. This explains the 'talking' phenomenon the person who reported it working was going to the plant, checking it, talking to it and then checking it again - what is happening is that between the two checks the plant updates.
It loads as furniture and then as the plant - as furniture when you /examine it will show its old examine values and then it loads its current values a little while later, they will change to what they realy are.
Remember there are two stages of each catagory. You need to add two doses to raise the rank one level, it may well be that the plant has a band of health
e.g. supose its ideal settings are both normal
If you get the settings to one unit below these (i.e. both Below normal but with one extra dose) or one unit above (still both normal) then you would see growth, this could confuse your experimentation if you don't note the specific levels.
It also seems that the growth rate is of little significance - all thoes who had plants grow did so based on its health. It may be that the rate of growth determines how much water and nutrient get used, though it may be that growth rate has some significance such as storing up hidden 'growth points' which must be ammassed to produce fruit or which impact on health in some way.

Mine evolved to a medium size on Sunday Morning. I initially reset its nutrients and water to Normal and got lucky; its growth went to slow. I'm now experimenting trying to get better growth, I tried Normal Nutrient/Moist water and it went to wilting within one cycle (about 4 hours), put it back on normal/normal and it went back to slow within one cycle.
Which brings up a question: The Health seems to rise and fall a notch each cycle, depending on if the plant has any growth at all or is wilting (or worse). However, it seems that the Growth rate will automatically jump to whatever step is appropriate for its current nutrient/water level. Is this accurate for everyone's plant?

Health:Full of Life
GR:Wilting
WL:Below Normal
NL:Low
Normal/Normal had been working great for me until Day 6, so i decided to try something different since it decided it was going to get a Growth Rate:Wilting, before i went to bed I left the
Water Level:Below Normal
and set the
Nutrient Level: Normal
Woke up today to a
Health: Perfect Condition
GR:Very Slow
Water Level: Dry
Nutrient Level: Low
So i am hoping I can keep this Perfect Condition and Very Slow growth rate for a few days and I should get it to medium size finally
Thanks everyone! Keep posting your Progress and Techniques, the more info we can amass on these, the better chance everyone has to keep them alive!

So far, Below Normal/Dry and Low Nutrients seems to be the best combo.
Also, for those that are struggling with stabilization...
Try LEAVING it alone a bit. Set your levels below normal and give it a chance
to recover. If you track my entire lifecycle, all growth increases have come in
that range.
Health is still in Perfect Condition on day3 at stageII.

I finally got my medium plant growing again after a few days of wilting
Health: Excellent
Growth: Very Slow
Water: Above Normal
Nutrients: Low
I had tried a number of different combos before this and the plant was wilting through all of them. I'm gradually going to try adjusting the water levels higher and the nutrients lower since I've already tried most of the settings in the middle already.
I had trouble getting my plant (stage 2) to get out of it's wilting growth. Tried wet/normal and normal/normal and below normal/normal.
I think i got the levels right as it spent most or all of yesterday with water at dry/low and stayed at below normal growth. Health has been maintained around perfect condition or full of life throughout. I'll need to check my plant to day.

If your plant is growing at all and you keep the settings steady, your health will eventually improve. Each time you adjust things and end up with wilting growth, your plant health is going to go down a bit so sometimes its best just to keep things steady even on a slow growth setting.

In real life, there are lots of way to make a plant grow
- Blue light (chlorophylia absorbs all the blue light, it's more effective) : Aurilla has a strange blue color when you are in the village
- Wet but not too much (the village is in a quite dry area)
- Talk to your plant
- Play music (or dance) near your plant (why not /setperform on it?)
- Bring him friends (other plants)
- Give them space
I got only one wish.... You got your plant up to final evolution point
Your plant evolves from large aurillia plant to Great Aurillia plant
Great Aurillia plant tells you "i'm hungry, bring me some flesh !"
Great Aurillia plant eats you
Great Aurillia plant hit you for 20 000 damage points
Great Aurillia plant slained you
You are dead
Great Aurillia plant tells you "Yum yum, tasty ! Bring me more !"

Since my plant got to stage 2 it looks like the requirements of water level vs. nutrient level change. I haven't found a great combination yet, but I did manage to get my growth rate to go from wilting to slow.
This is my log since my plant grew to stage 2:

9/9 - H: Full of Life, GR: Wilting, WL: Normal, NL: High
