I beg to differ. Demanding something that you are paying for is being an irate customer, not a spoiled brat. People are sick of the dangling carrot which gets yanked back like it is truely the bait that it is. A spoiled brat act is one starring posts and calling others to cuff because they feel their money is not being spent as wisely as it could be. If someone works for you, and like it or not, we pay the bills at SOE, and the set a timeline for something and fail to deliver, do you not hold them accountable? I know this is how it works in the real world, but the Dev/Community Relations team here act like damned Civil Servant union reps. "Here's that carrot guys, make sure and pay your union dues on time".
People are tired of empty promises of things to come.I think we are all in full on "show me don't tell me"phase as a customer base. I urge those of you, like me, who are displeased with what TH has posted and his obvious ignoring of the tough questions to PM his boss, Calandryl_SOE or SOE_Tyrant. Enough of the double talk already.
Yes, but personally, I like helping people who treat me well. If you are an irate customer chances are you'll get less help than if you were a respectful customer.
Where have you been for the last few publishes? Empty promises? They have delivered on a ton of stuff that wasn't even promised that made the game that much better.
And if you feel you money might be better spent then by all means spend it better! Nobody is forcing you to play. Apparently you enjoy this game or you wouldn't be so concerned about the information. Maybe you should cut the people who createdthe gamea little bit of slack. If you hadn't noticed, there are some bugs they need to fix and I bet they need some time to focus on getting all of it ironed out. Sometimes there are more pressing issues than informing the community about what is coming. I'd rather hear nothing and suddenly have tons of bugs fixed than hear a constant stream of possible additions while the current bugs persist.
Well, I can still be respectful AND disagree with their customer service. I have been, but my patience is growing thin. It is possible to be disagreeable and not be irate about it fussing and fuming. Look at this thread, has TH responded to one respectful complaint? Nope, he has surfed through looking for fluff pieces like yours, no offense, and responded to them. It is typical "TH fields a softball question and smacks it out of the park".
We all know TH is not a Dev, persay, but he is the number two man between us and the Devs. He either posted something last week that was approved about telling us why the delay OR he jumped the gun (As per usual when he posts) and posted his take and not the official party line. This is typical and frankly, I can really undertsand what makes people irate about it.
As far as delivering what they tell when they do say so, let me go back. I DO like the last few publishes, but they haven't exactly come off without a hitch. The rubberbanding cost some people their deaths, they STILL haven't completely figured out what is causing the CTD issues some folks are having (Although since I rolled back to my old drivers, I myself haven't CTDed) and there are issues with this new publish with the GCW aspect of the game and turrets. They were on the right track with bringing things in line with the way krayts were dropping pearls. They borked that and may have finally fixed that and other creature drops. Dunno, I went out doing my thing.
I believe we were told after the last publish fiasco that things were not going to be pushed live when there are so many issues/bugs, yet we had 13.1 shoved down our throats with an obvious exploit still in the game.(The BH/Jedi duel bug.) I see you also play on TC, can you honestly say that the last publish was actually ready for Live play? Most of the posts I read during that fateful day from the testers were begging them to not push that thing Live. They did not listen and hey, we STILL have bugs that they pushed on us not yet fixed. Is it so wrong to wait an extra week or two to make sure something is fixed before they push it to Live and we all become TC?
As far as my money goes, yes I like the game, but does that mean I will sit idly by and take whatever tripe they feed me like some people, or cut them some slack? No, I will not. SOE was the largest MMO developer on the block and seem to be resting on their laurels. This is the private sector, and people ARE accountable for their work. I would easily settle for no info, as you've said, and have a bunch of bugs fixed. This is not about bug fixes though, this is about the communication, or lack thereof that we are seeing even after we are told to expect something "next week" about delays. Hey guess what, it's next week and guess what....nothing new to hear. Don't ask us what we want to see for a FF then shove screenshots down our throats. If you like to sit here content with the single bowl of porridge they give you, that is your business. If there are those of us who have the balls to go up to the devs and ask "More please", don't try to look down on us for holding them accountable for the empty promises.
Maybe next time he won't say anything at all and people will complain about that. Either way, someone is going to be upset.

TH...if you are not 100% sure about something...please don't post it. Everytime you go back on your word people get just a little bit more bitter.
See that giant space battle? The rebellion striking out with their tougher and more capable of ships at vast Star Destroyers that defend themselves with fleets of nearly expendible TIE fighters?
Oooh, that's how Jump To Lightspeed should be. I know people have asked, and we always tell ourselves it couldn't be done. But that's the way to do it, somehow we need Star Destroyers in Imperial Held systems. Huge capitol ships we can fly into and land, and have to 'escort' into a system as a live event for days when a planet changes hands, to bring in reinforcements and troops. Something rebs would see, and go 'oh no...' like you do when you see a Super Battle Droid coming at you.
At the very itty bittiest least, we could have them as graphics in the background sky of space. Sure, the space sectors can't easily contain them, but they don't contain whole planets, and we can see them easily. Have a talented artist like the one that made that image craft a couple of star destroyers to put in the star field. Anything to remind us that what you see when you look up is what's actually up there

Bullsht. Your boss can tell you to lie, but he can't make you do it. Your boss can tell you to go back on your word, but he can't force you to. IF (and this is one huge if) the problem lies with TH's bosses, then he should have been a man and quit long ago. Since he didn't, he's as culpable as "they" are.
Anything to give this game more of a Star Wars atmosphere is lovely, far's I'm concerned. Don't have to beat us over the heads with it, but it seems like it shouldn't be easy to forget.
